I feel like the risk would be slightly higher. Maybe around a 10% higher chance for some complications. Miscarriage is also more common for a longer period of time.

- his heart feels like it is being torn out of his chest and ripped to shreds as his mate passes and their bond breaks 

- i think that they pass out from how intense the sudden break is

- when they finally wake up or calm down, they are just numb and sick with sadness 

- they don’t want to see their pup(s) when they wake up, all they want to see is their mate

- of course they break down when they see their mate. beautiful, but pale and cold. belly still swollen, but with their pup(s) currently in the hospital nursery 

- they are in denial for a long while, but know that their love is gone because there is a searing ache in their heart because of the break 

- the alpha doesn’t go to the nursery for their entire stay in the hospital, needing to be observed for the sudden bond break and depression 

- the alpha and omega’s family go to make sure that the pup(s) is okay, updating the alpha even if they don’t care

- their family and the omega’s family even bring photos for them to see their pups

- they feel guilty for hating their kid(s), but they can’t help but to blame them for the loss of their omega 

- it takes them awhile to be cleared by the doctors even though they aren’t mentally okay, they are physically 

- the pup(s) is being held in a scentless room, being incubated with an article of clothing from both their mother and father. 

- the alpha can only stand to be looking at the pup through the glass 

- it takes them a long while to be able to see the pup(s)

- when they do the pup(s) cry and so does the alpha, and they immediately run from them 

- only when the threat of the pup(s) being taken away for good from the alpha, they muster up the strength to hold their pup(s) and scent them 

- though they can’t help but to feel hallowed by the interaction, feeling that secret hatred they have for their pup(s) for taking their mate from them 

- the alpha has to take them home and starts to live their life with the pup(s) they resent with help from both their parent’s and the omega’s 

- when the funeral rolls around, the alpha doesn’t speak to anyone or even tend to the pup(s) letting their family and in-laws do so, so he could mourn without worry of hating the pup(s) even more 

- the families can’t help but to call out the alpha, telling them that their mate wouldn’t want them to hate their pup(s) that they have been so excited to have for how ever long they’ve been trying for. 

- after that, the alpha secludes themselves for a time once again, but the family has hope that they will come around 

- takes a worrying amount of time, but the alpha slowly starts to take more and more responsibilities for the pup(s). even showing that they truly care for the pup(s)

- slowly and carefully the parents leave the alpha to the task of raising the baby(s)

- slowly, but surely, the alpha begins to love and care for their babe(s)

- although it takes some time, the alpha is happy to know that their pup(s) is healthy and that their omega did all they could’ve to bring them into the world healthy and perfect 

- the alpha can only appreciate that, that their mate would sacrifice themselves for their babe(s) showing that the omega loved them and their pup(s) enough to do all they could to have them live a perfect life

- the alpha intends to give that to their pup(s) for their mate and also for themselves because they care for their babe(s) just as much as their omega did 

- it’s hard for the alpha more often times than not, but eventually that searing at their heart heals enough with the love and care they feel towards their pup(s)

I can totally see the bathrooms and changing rooms being split up depending on either a Dynamic can impregnate another Dynamic or not. Bathrooms would look (designed) identical, aside from maybe a diaper changer thing. Since both genders are using the bathrooms. Stalls, urinals, sinks, mirrors, etc. 

The changing rooms would also look the same for either case. It’s a dressing room, a small room with a lockable door and a mirror and hooks to hang clothes.

I think people seem to sexualise them because of where they are placed, usually being on the neck. Omegaverse seems to be very fond of werewolf/general wolf tropes. knotting, scent marking, the dominance of alpha and submission of omega.

Scent glands appear to be sexualised as part of the BDSM tropes found in omegaverse. The neck is a vunerable spot. to link to wolves, a more submissive wolf will lay on their side, tilt their head and bare their neck to a more dominant one.

I don’t know why people make scent glands sexualised since its really the neck that is an actual erogenous zone on the human body.

As special coverings over these glands, I don’t see the needs since they only one who got near a scent is that omega’s alpha.

As for culture and time period.

I think Geisha and Courtesans, in Japan, would have most probably drawn attention to their scent glands to titillate their customers same with modern western burlesque performers, strippers and exotic dancers.

Respectable women and male omega would at all times have at least a light fabric covering their scent glands in summer and linen or cotton in winter.

More conservative Omega and Female Betas would always have a thicker fabric covering their scent glands, in polite company or in public.

Alphas would be more likely in times of old to have their wrist scent glands uncovered, advertising their virility and suitability to Omega and female beta.
