Imagine that Stiles used to go to music school, learning piano and how to sing. Once all the supernatural mishap began he had to stop, and he put his keyboard away for safe keeping. One pack night, when Lydia’s in charge of the aux, he hears ‘I Hear a Symphony’ (Cody Fry) and can’t help but sing along.
Derek just watches on in awe, utterly entranced by Stiles' voice.

Stiles: * sigh * “This is Twister, nobody is dying for anybody, period”
Malia: “if Liam doesn’t get his claws off my hand that might change”
Lydia: “Okay, if we figure this out slowly, we can untangle ourselves and stop playing”
Derek: “Well Liam is on top -”
Theo: [interrupting] “- that’s a first” (smirk)
Malia: “Ow, get off mh -”
[everyone collapses on each other]
Scott: [rubbing his head] “Why did we play this game again?”
Lydia: “Because Liam threw the Monopoly board through the wall last time; Theo can’t handle Operation; Nolan ate the pieces to Candyland - ”
Stiles: “- and all of you get super weird when I ask if anyone wants to play chess or Go [that game Kira’s mother taught us with the black and white pebbles]”
[Entire pack looks at Stiles. Cue awkward silence]
Nolan: [blushing/breaking silence] “I thought it was made of candy”
What's the typical pack night like for you guys? Are Chris, Peter, and the sheriff invited?
Stiles: Pack nights are usually pretty chilled- most often we’ll do a movie night together. Lydia and Jackson join us too, most nights. Peter and Chris and my dad join us occasionally, when they feel like it. I mean- they’re part of the pack too, right? Naturally they’re invited.
Woaaaa is Erica pregnant!? Looks like it in the last pic, with a hand on her stomach (which looks a little swollen). Her and Boyd will have such cute babies I'm sure!!!!!

Who: Derek and Scott (played by Alex), Isaac and Erica (played by ichigo), Lydia and Cora (played by Sydney), Stiles (played by Sami)
When: Friday afternoon, a week after Derek/Lydia and Stiles/Isaac split
Where: Derek's loft
Notes: Erica has the worst best ideas.
Derek had made all of the necessary preparations - he had rented the movies, gotten out several card games (a deck of normal playing cards and cards against humanity, which he didn't actually want to play, but it was suggested so he couldn't ignore it), and he had locked away the booze upstairs to ensure there wouldn't be a repeat of last time's unfortunate events. So he sat down and waited, still in his work clothes but having kicked off his shoes hours ago, and flicked on the tv and waited, knowing that 90% of the people attending pack night would just fling open the door and make themselves comfortable anyway.
Erica was going to murder Isaac. He'd been ignoring her text messages for weeks, and now apparently he and Stiles were on shaky ground, if what Boyd had said about him crashing on his sofa for four nights, before mysteriously disappearing again, had been any indication. He had better have a damn good explanation for ignoring her. Derek, on the other hand, had decided to invite Lydia, Stiles, and Scott to the next pack night. Erica preferred the pack-only nights, but inviting Stiles was a good sign. Maybe Derek was finally ready to make a move! Regardless, she was willing to sit through Lydia's obnoxious behavior if it meant a chance of a happy ending for Stiles and Derek. Finally. Not that she was telling this to anyone. Obviously, they wouldn't understand. Erica shook her head to clear her thoughts before pushing open the loft door. "Hey, boss!" she cried. Behind her, Boyd grimaced. "We're ready to par-tay!" She grabbed Boyd's hand and tugged him inside as she steered them towards the couch where Derek was sitting and watching TV.
Stiles was not in any hurry. Nope. That was totally not the case. In fact, he was driving on a reasonable pace. But that didn't explain Scott's annoyance and constant "We'll be late in this rate." but it didn't matter. His Jeep, his rules. Okay so maybe he was a little nervous. He had the right to be. Stiles was expected to attend this pack night thing and ignore Derek the whole night. Peachy. After a few minutes, they finally arrived and with a cheeky grin directed at Scott, Stiles parked and they headed towards the loft. "Now dude, remember, you keep your mouth shut about everything I told you about Derek and me, got it?" he whispered Derek's name. Just to be safe. Werewolves and their damn hearing abilities.
Scott uttered out a mocking, 'finally' as Stiles parked and hopped out of the car. He nodded to affirm that he wouldn't mention anything about anything Stiles had told him. Nothing at all. Then he stopped for a moment, and squinted, before taking a quick few steps to catch up to Stiles, "Wait, dude," he paused, "why did you whisper Derek's name?" he finished at full volume.
Cora sighed, walking down the staircase. "Okay, I get your whole 'let's bond' thing," she said, "but no alcohol? Seriously? I need something to numb the urge I'm going to have to vomit." She jumped over the couch to land next to Derek and tried to steal the remote. He had absolutely no taste in television and she thought that that would be something the princess would have taught him.
Isaac grinned at Lydia as he slid into the passenger seat of her sedan. He hadn't been avoiding Derek and Stiles this past week - no, that was a total lie. He really wanted everyone to just get along. They should be fine. Nothing could be worse than that awful double date a week before. This time he wouldn't have to deal with Stiles' displays of physical affection, at least. Knowing about Isaac's feelings meant Stiles had been staying the hell away. Isaac sighed before turning back to Lydia. "So when are you going to want to leave? Seeing as how you're," he made air quotes with his hands, "busy after this." He flashed a grin, feeling more at ease than he'd been in weeks, and ducked just in case she tried to smack him. They rolled up to the loft just after Stiles and Scott got there, and Isaac face-palmed when he heard Scott practically shout "Why did you whisper Derek's name?" He stifled a laugh in the crook of his elbow before getting out of the car.
Lydia did not want to go to pack night. Okay, realistically, she didn't want to be around Erica. And Allison apparently couldn't make it--though she suspected Derek wouldn't want her there anyway; it just would have been nice to have her best friend around so she wouldn't have to focus on both Isaac (and Derek) giving Stiles puppy eyes and Stiles giving Derek puppy eyes. Though she would have to deal with Scott's puppy eyes. At least Jackson wouldn't be there. Lydia started her car when Isaac slid in, and rolled her eyes at his comment. She halfheartedly pushed his shoulder. "I'll have you know I actually am a very busy person, Isaac," she said. "Maybe I actually have a date that I just never mentioned." Total lie, though, and she knew Isaac would know that. She parked next to Stiles' deathtrap, sighing when she got out of her car.
Derek rolled his eyes as Erica burst in, dragging poor Boyd with her. He almost didn't want to give up his peace and quiet. No, he definitely didn't want to give up his peace and quiet. Soon after, he heard doors slam in the parking lot, definitely Stiles' jeep and Lydia's car. To be fair, he only knew it was Stiles' jeep because of the creaking, the other door could have been one of his neighbors, he wasn't paying attention. "You're underage, Cora." Derek said, monotone, and put up a slight fight for the remote. "And no one wants a repeat of last time," he said, bitterly, not sure if Cora even knew what had happened last time, and hoping that Erica wouldn't bring it up.
Erica smirked at Derek when he turned to chastise his sister, but raised an eyebrow at the mention of last time. "I'd certainly hope not," she remarked breezily, before collapsing over the arm of the sofa and butting her head up against Derek's thigh. If anyone asked, she was trying to annoy him, but she secretly liked the contact. "And I have a few ideas as to how to liven up the party even without the use of alcohol." She winked before straightening and making grabby hands in Boyd's general direction. Her boyfriend (and wasn't that a fun thought!) sighed before coming over and sitting on the floor in between the vee of her legs. She grinned when she heard Stiles, Scott, Isaac, and Lydia - ugh - tromp up the stairs, before the door to the loft slid open.
Stiles frowned at Scott, annoyed. "Oh, Scotty." he mumbled, shaking his head. He looked around quickly and grinned when he saw Lydia and Isaac pull up. He stumbled towards them, with Scott, and nearly tripped on his own feet. Always the graceful. Stiles was a little nervous to be around Isaac, after where they had left off, but he couldn't avoid him forever. Because A) not cool. B) he didn't want to avoid him. He liked Isaac. Like a lot. Just not the way Isaac wanted. If there was one thing Stiles had learnt from this experience was do not get involved with a friend. No "buts" or "what if's." The answer is no. If only someone was there to warn him before this thing started. In no time, they were inside the loft and greeted by the others. It looked like Erica and Boyd had already arrived. Cora looked... like how Cora would look in a crowded loft. Stiles stood in the middle of the loft, awkwardly, leaving as much distance from Derek as possible while completely avoiding eye contact with him.
Scott frowned back at Stiles, almost mocking his expression, before his features softened and he whispered, "oooh." He followed Stiles toward the car with Isaac and Lydia, watching him trip. "Hey Lydia," he said, smiling big and waving, "hey, Isaac," he tacked on, just as peppy. He followed everyone inside before issuing out various hellos to the people already inside, some of them very friendly, others - such as Erica's - mildly frightened. He stood with Stiles, slightly confused, waiting for him to pick a spot to sit down, before whispering, "oh," again.
Cora sighed. "All of your whatevers are underage, too, and that didn't stop them last time," she said. Part of her wanted to question exactly what had happened last time, but then again, she really didn't need to know. Although, if it was something she could lord over Derek.... That was a lot more appealing; she'd have to bother him about it later. Skeptic, Cora raised an eyebrow at Erica's claim. Before she could comment back, though, she heard the rest of Derek's ragtag group getting closer and she rolled her eyes.
Isaac traipsed up towards the loft, Lydia, Stiles, and Scott following behind him. He wasn't avoiding looking at Stiles, exactly, but he didn't want to make things awkward, and every time he caught himself looking he started getting self-conscious. He pulled open the door to the loft, and raised a hand in greetings to Derek, Cora, Boyd, and Erica, who were all clustered around the sofa. "Hey guys." Erica shot him a dirty look, and Isaac just gave her a rueful smile in response. "Did you order the pizza yet?"
Lydia smiled in response to Scott before following all of them up to the loft. When they entered and Isaac greeted everyone that was there, which included--ugh--Erica, she wished again that Allison could've made it. Because even if she would have to deal with Scott and Allison being cute, and Derek occasionally glaring at her, at least she'd have someone whom she was close with. Because now all she has is a boy who's completely hung up on someone else (make that two boys, really), others that she isn't entirely close with, and Erica. With whom she would rather be dead than make friendly conversation.
Derek glared bitterly at Erica, then, as monotone as possible, uttered, "what," to her suggestion of livening up the party. "I thought, maybe, they were mature enough to handle themselves," Derek said to Cora, but held another long, hard glare at Erica. Derek sighed, feeling as if there were far too many people in his loft, and that he was glad he had locked the cats in their kennel, just to ensure their safety. Isaac mentioned pizza, and Derek pulled out his cell phone. "I'll do that right now." He dialed the number and raised his eyebrows to try to indicate, 'suggestions?'
Erica glared at Isaac, the traitor, as he walked into the loft. He was standing apart from Stiles, and suspiciously close to Lydia. He'd probably had some sort of fight with Stiles, from the way both of them were practically oozing anxiety. Erica wrinkled her nose and waved them over to sit in the hideous pink and orange arm chairs. She just grinned in the face of Derek's glare. "So who wants to play a game of spin-the-bottle?" She winked at Isaac. Boyd snorted from his spot below her, and she smacked him in the head with the back of her hand. "Quiet, you." She grinned down at him. "It's a classic party game. Next best thing to getting drunk." She turned to Derek. "Oh, and I want pepperoni."
This was Stiles' opportunity to prove to Derek he could easily forget anything between them and be... cool about it. Yep, Stiles was definitely cool. "Come on, Erica. Pepperoni? Really?" he said, smug. "That's so safe. Pesto chicken is where it's at." He nodded, mostly to himself. Stiles looked around the room, taking everything in, before walking towards Erica and sitting next to her. He frowned at the thought of spin-the-bottle since it was bound to end badly.
Scott mostly watched around the room, wondering how to get into these conversations. They had all apparently done this before, and this was the first time Scott had been invited. He tried not to feel hurt. "I'm fine with whatever or cheese, Derek." He said, and sat down next to Stiles, thankful for the barrier of Stiles between them. He wrinkled his nose at Stiles' suggestion of pesto chicken, despite the fact that he had always known that it was Stiles' favorite and that he would inhale it, that is, if Derek actually ordered it. He glanced at his bfffl (best friend forever for life) when spin the bottle was mentioned, trying to gauge his reaction. He didn't smell too happy with the idea. "Uhm," Scott spoke up, "I'm not sure I should, you know, with dating Allison and all." Regardless, he pulled out his phone to text her and see how she'd feel about it, on the offchance he got sucked into it.
Cora laughed once at the mention of spin the bottle. "Seriously?" she asked. She pushed herself off the couch and walked over to the kitchen, getting herself a glass of water. Hearing everyone offer up pizza toppings, Cora said, just loud enough for Derek (and the other 'wolves) to hear, "I really don't care, but please don't tell me you're actually going to order pesto chicken." She walked back to stand in the doorway with her water, watching all of them interact together, Scott sticking close to Stiles--who seemed to be radiating...anxiety? "The fuck is your problem, Stilinski?" she asked, only belatedly realizing that maybe it was the mention of spin-the-bottle. Maybe he didn't want to be forced to make out with anyone here. Who the fuck knew?
Isaac sat down on the floor next to the empty arm chair, thinking that Lydia might want to sit next to him, and knowing that she'd murder someone before sitting on the floor in a miniskirt. "I would eat pesto chicken, too,” he said, knowing it was Stiles' favorite, and unless someone else vouched for it, it wouldn't get ordered. Isaac grimaced, however, at Erica's suggestion of spin-the-bottle. On the one hand, no matter how much he'd tried to push Stiles into starting a relationship with Derek, he really didn't want to see them kissing. On the other hand, this might be his only chance to see Lydia make out with Cora. Or Erica. Or both. "I'm in," he blurted.
Lydia felt grateful that Isaac sat next to empty chair, nearly positive that it was her to sit in. Following his lead, she sat in the chair and crossed her legs at her ankles, smoothing down the skirt. She had no opinion on pizza, in fact she probably wouldn't even eat any, and tried not to wince at Erica's suggestion. When Isaac blurted him compliance, she did wince but recovered quickly. The absolute last thing she wanted to be forced to do would be to kiss someone in this room. Granted she had already made out with three of its occupants, but still. She didn't want to kiss anyone and she didn't want to watch Isaac kiss anyone. She was shaking her head before she realized what she was doing.
Derek stood up and walked outside into the hallway, partially to not get pestered as he was ordered, and partially so the others could continue conversation while he was ordering without disrupting the person on the other side of the phone. He slid the door of the loft closed and placed the order, two large cheese, one large pepperoni, one large meat lover's, and - he couldn't believe he was actually ordering it - one large pesto chicken. Derek wasn't even entirely sure what pesto was, but if he was going to get back into Stiles' good graces without it being too awkward, there was a good chance that the way to his heart was through his stomach. He gave his address for the delivery, and walked back inside and fell back into his spot on the couch. He glanced around the room, remembering Erica's suggestion. Spin the bottle might not be so bad, he had already kissed Lydia and he wanted to kiss Stiles, he figured he would be exempt from kissing his sister, Erica had already forced her tongue into Derek's mouth once, Scott and Boyd couldn't be that horrible on the offchance it did land on one of them, and he could just say 'no' whenever it landed on Isaac. That's how it worked, right? They were able to say no? Derek shrugged and glanced at Erica, muttering, "if you guys want to."
Erica made a quick tally of the general reactions to her suggestion. Boyd, obviously, would go along with whatever she wanted. Isaac, unsurprisingly, was in. Derek, surprisingly, was also in. Cora didn't seem to care, and Scott was still staring down at his phone. Stiles and Lydia were practically radiating unhappiness. But Erica didn't care about Lydia's opinion, and Stiles getting the opportunity to kiss a few people without any pressure could only be good for him. "Totally!" she said, beaming at Derek. "We just need a bottle. I think there's still Mountain Dew in the fridge," she added. "I can go first, unless Stiles wants to." She winked at Stiles.
Stiles jumped at Cora's voice. "Wha- Me? I'm fine. I'm great." That was clearly a lie and not a good idea considering he was in a loft full of werewolves. If they valued his friendship, they'd let it go. Or at least Stiles hoped they would. He glanced at Isaac, shocked because he remembers getting a what the fuck face from him when he found out how much Stiles liked pesto chicken pizza, and couldn't help but beam in delight. However his smile turned into a frown once Isaac also agreed to spin the bottle. But before anyone could notice, like that was possible, he quickly nodded, faking his excited. "Yeah, dude, sounds like f-un. With a capital F. Yeah..." Stiles tried his best not to roll his eyes at Erica. Was she trying to annoy him tonight or something? "You go first." he said bluntly. It was too much effort to even pretend anymore.
Scott glanced down at the texts from Allison, saying that she didn't care, as long as he didn't kiss Erica and as long as he knew that she was a better kisser than everyone there, which she totally was. Her lips were really soft and everything. "I guess I'll play," Scott said, mildly defeated. He shot a glare at Erica when she kind of sort of taunted Stiles, and then gave Stiles a concerned glance. He could tell he was totally not fine.
Cora snort at Stiles's obvious lie of a response but let it go. She made her way back to where she was sitting beside Derek, feeling just plain old amused at half the group's hesitation to play. Part of her was still wondering why the he'll she accepted Derek's offer for her to join them, when she could have gone out and done something else.Anything else, really. She had friends that she hung out with, friends that weren't from Beacon Hills. She could have gone out and gotten drunk. Instead, the part of her that really did--ugh--love and miss her brother thought it would be okay to hijack just this one pack meeting. There was still a chance that she wouldn't regret it, but it didn't seem like it was going to pan out that way.
Isaac sprawled against the foot of Lydia's chair, just letting his arm brush against her calf. He could still sense both Stiles' and Lydia's discomfort at the idea of playing spin-the-bottle. "You don't have to play if you don't want to," he said quietly, craning his neck to look up at Lydia. "Are you sure there's no one here you'd like to kiss?" He ducked his head, feeling heat rise to his cheeks as he felt the other werewolves' eyes on him.
Lydia bit her cheek, hating that the one pack meeting she goes to, and there's going to be spin-the-bottle. Hating that everyone was going along with it, that even Derek isn't objecting. She looks down when Isaac talks to her, biting the inside of her lip harder. "I," she starts. She closes her eyes, and breathes. "Well, seeing as, one, I'm already outnumbered, and two, I have already kissed three of you...why not." Lydia looks out to the group and waits for when Erica decides to spin, hoping to God that it doesn't land on her.
Derek stared at Isaac as he spoke. Not the time to flirt Isaac, not the time to flirt. He shot him a harsh glare and then stood up to retrieve an empty wine bottle (from yesterday) for them to play with. It would spin easier than a plastic soda bottle and the mountain dew wasn't empty, anyway. He sat the bottle down and then went to the door, hearing footsteps that must have been the pizza delivery. He paid and quietly thanked the delivery person, then took the pizzas inside and ploped them down in the middle of the group. "Go ahead, Erica." He held in the urge to scowl.
Erica grinned cheekily and got off the couch, scrambling over to the empty bottle that Derek had placed on the floor, feeling suddenly nervous. She stared down at the bottle as she spinned it, giving only a slight strength boost to her twist. After a few seconds, it spun to a stop in front of... "Cora?" Erica turned to look up at Cora and licked her lips. She glanced over at Boyd, but he was smirking at her, so she rolled her eyes. She licked her lips and stood, walking over to the couch and standing in between Cora's splayed legs. "Well?" she asked, unsure for the first time since she'd suggested the idea.
Cora raised an eyebrow when Erica looked at her, already leaning back into the couch. She didn't look at anyone, just waited for Erica to make her way over. But when the girl just stands in front of Cora, looking slightly unsure, Cora reaches forward and grabs the front of Erica's shirt. "C'mon," she says, lightly tugging Erica down. She pushes herself slightly up to catch Erica's lips in a brief kiss before letting the girl go and falling back onto the couch. She smirks. "Okay, Stiles, I think it's your turn since you pushed off the first spin to Erica."
Stiles quickly grabbed for the pesto chicken pizza once Derek set it down. "Ugh." He pretty much drooled at the site of the pizza and quickly span the box around to offer Isaac a few slices. He smiled at Isaac, still a little confused he wanted some since he never really liked it before, but huh maybe he's only just realising how awesome it is. Stiles nearly choked on the slice he was devouring as he watched the bottle spin and land on Cora. Erica and Cora. Well, Boyd would enjoy this. Stiles couldn't sit still, nearly laughing, as he watched the two kiss. But of course leave it to Cora to spin his mood upside within a matter of seconds. Maybe he should have waited to eat his pizza till after the game. With a sigh, Stiles grabbed onto the bottle and let it spin. The few seconds felt like hours but it finally landed on Lydia. Thank God. As long as it wasn't Isaac or Derek, Stiles was fine with it. He turned towards Lydia and grinned. "Come here." He caressed her neck and leaned in with the intention of only giving her a small peck on the lips.
Lydia watched with dread when Erica spun the bottle, nearly positive that her luck would allow it to land on her. But when it landed on Cora instead, she breathed a sigh of relief. Thankful that she wasn't a 'wolf, Lydia was nearly positive that every guy in the room--excluding Derek and maybe Scott--was oh-so-happy to see the two girls kiss. She tried not to make a face at Cora when she taunted Stiles, but then the bottled stopped spinning at her. She turned to Stiles to see him already grinning at her and she smiled back, leaning in as he caressed her neck and closing her eyes. The kiss was soft and brief, and kind of nice. Lydia leaned back a little and looked toward whoever's turn it would be next.
Scott wasn't exactly sure how to feel about Erica and Cora kissing. Both of them were kind of scary to be honest. But, you know, two girls kissing. He felt a little guilty for watching. He whistles mockingly when Stiles' turn landed on Lydia, knowing that both of them would know it was totally a joke. He paused when they finished, and saw Lydia's eyes on him. "My turn?" He said, kind of unsure, and then spun the bottle. It stopped, and Scott looked up to see who it landed on. "Erica," he laughed a little uneasy, "okay," and leaned in to her, hoping for just an innocent little platonic kiss.
Erica was still buzzing from her successful kiss with Cora, and the fact that people seemed to be actually enjoying the game, when Scott spun and the bottle landed on her. Erica winked lasciviously at Scott before leaning in. She grabbed the back of his neck for show, but kept the kiss to a gentle press of lips. She still made an obnoxious smacking sound when they broke apart, though. Had to keep up appearances, after all. "Who's next?" Her eyes landed on Cora, who was slouched back against the couch cushions, looking completely relaxed. "You want to take a spin?"
Cora rolled her eyes with a smile at Erica theatrics. She shrugged when Erica called her out and leaned forward to spin the bottle. She briefly looked around, wondering who'd she'd have to kiss next. The kiss with Erica hadn't been that bad, and everyone else looked to be having some fun, so maybe this wasn't such a bad thing after all. When the bottle landed on Derek, Cora smirked. "Aw, Der," she said. She leaned forward and kissed his cheek with a loud smacking sound. Pulling away, she wiped at his cheek and laughed.
Derek had been peacefully watching, almost forgetting that he was a participant in this game. It was a little uncomfortable watching his sister kiss Erica, and very uncomfortable watching his ex-girlfriend kiss his future boyfriend. Okay. That was cocky. That was an intrusive thought. Derek assured himself, thanking his weird werewolf genetics for not granting them all the ability to read minds. He felt a pang of jealousy, not sure who he was more jealous of. Hopefully his scent was hidden by the stench of Stiles' gross pizza. He almost didn't want to kiss Stiles, he would taste like pesto chicken. He laughed a little when Scott pulled away from Erica looking a little shaken with a red tint to his cheeks, and then, of course, his own sister's spin landed on him. He made sure to scrunch up his face and make a show of how totally gross his sister kissing his cheek was, and wiped at it after she did, concealing a smile.
Isaac managed a half-hearted smile at Stiles when he passed him the pesto chicken pizza box. He tried to figure out which was the smallest piece before giving up and tearing one in half. He gave Erica a longing look from where she was selecting a piece of pepperoni, and she smirked at him. Prodding at his pizza with one finger, Isaac waited for his turn. So far the spin the bottle game hadn't been too bad. Erica and Cora had been pretty hot, and he'd felt surprisingly okay about Stiles kissing Lydia. Of course, seeing them kiss just made him think about threesomes with Derek, and that made him depressed again. By the time his turn was up, his stomach was jittery with nerves. The bottle seemed to take forever to land on... "Cora?" He shrugged. That was way better than some of the other options. He crawled forward, grinning at Cora, and tried to ignore Derek's death glare.
Derek glared at the bottle as it slowed and stopped on Cora. And then he glared at Isaac, hoping he would see the glare. Hoping he would understand that Derek would rip his arms off. But no, Isaac crawled forward, like an idiot, grinning. The grinning was really what broke Derek's patience. He jolted his foot out and kicked Isaac, trying to knock him over and gave Isaac a threatening glare. "Absolutely not."
Erica cackled when Cora smacked her brother on the cheek with a sloppy kiss. She was sitting back and enjoying her slice of pepperoni when Isaac spun Cora, and Derek started fuming. "Oh my god, Derek, you don't get veto power on someone else's kiss!" Annoyed, she crossed her arms over her chest and glared. "Wait. I have an alternate rule." She tilted her head, smirking. "Anyone can veto a kiss, their own or someone else's, no explanation required. But if you do, you have to strip. One article of clothing per veto. Shoes and jewelry don't count." She nodded in Derek's direction. "So if you don't want someone mackin' on your baby sis, you'd better take it off." She waggled her eyebrows in challenge, figuring he'd grumble, but let Isaac get on with the kiss.
Derek swung his death glare on over to Erica. "You can't just make up rules," he said bitterly. "That isn't fair, that's cheating." Derek's argument got less and less persistent as his sentence went on, but then he gave Erica another, stronger death glare, and, thankful that he hadn't changed out of his work clothes, he bitterly yanked off his tie. He then went back to glaring at Isaac, trying to literally glare him back to his seat. "Back off, Lahey."
Lydia rolled her eyes at Isaac's enthusiasm to kiss Cora. It reminded her of why things had never fully escalated between them to begin with; she had accused him of trying to get with everyone. And he didn't really seem to be proving that wrong. Sure, it was just a stupid game but did he have to look so happy? Lydia smirked when Derek objected, but felt her stomach drop when Erica added the stripping rule. Which made her revise exactly who she would say no to. Erica was still on that list, but Scott and Cora were off. Well. Unless Derek wouldn't let her kiss Cora. She smothered a laugh when Derek grumpily took off his tie, and sighed because it was her turn. Lydia spun the bottle and tried not to blush when it landed on Isaac. She looked down at him. "Okay. Ready?" She slid off the chair a little to more level with him.
Isaac flinched backward, away from Derek's kick. It hadn't hurt, but god, it had stung. Apparently Isaac really wasn't good enough to even touch Derek's sister, never mind the fact that he was just trying to make this stupid game bearable. Was Derek going to object if his spin landed on Lydia, or Stiles, too? He was about to snap at Derek, when Erica came to his defense. Isaac was still silently fuming when Lydia's spin came to a stop in front of him. His throat felt suddenly dry, and he nodded instead of responding. He resisted the urge to look back at Derek, and see if he was still pouting, and instead smiled at Lydia, small and genuine. He licked his lips and pushed himself to his knees, cupping the side of her face with his hand and pressing their lips together, lingering in a chaste press. By the time he pulled himself away and sat back down, his cheeks were burning. Erica was staring at him, looking a little shell-shocked, and he couldn't bear to look at Stiles or Derek.
Derek sat and watched Lydia's spin land on Isaac and grabbed another piece of pizza. He didn't feel as jealous as when Lydia and Stiles kissed, to be completely honest. That had to mean something. He wanted to root for them, he really did, almost more than he was rooting for himself. He felt a little guilty for kicking Isaac, but he also felt guilty for everything he had put Isaac through in the last few weeks. He exhaled slowly as Isaac and Lydia parted, ignoring the fact that Isaac looked vaguely like a tomato. He hadn't spun yet, and there seemed to be tension in the air, so Derek leaned toward the bottle without a word and spun it. Part of him hoped to god it landed on Stiles and the other part was saything that he'd rather run around the neighborhood in his boxers than to kiss him right now, in front of everyone. And of course, just Derek's luck, the bottle stopped pointing squarely at Stiles. Derek glanced at him, trying to read some sort of emotion, and then covered the short distance between them and kissed Stiles, briefly but deeply. He hesitated moving away with his mouth practically still on the other boy's and whispered, "I'm sorry."
Stiles looked at Isaac as he pulled back from Lydia. He was practically as red as a tomato. There was something still there then and Stiles hoped for the best. He wanted Isaac to be happy. He tried not to glance at Derek once it was his turn and failed miserably. As the bottle span, Stiles could feel the tension in the air. Oh god. Please no no no no no- Fuck. Stiles was starting to think the universe was against him and now he had to go through the embarrassment of Derek refusing to kiss him. Great. Awesome. Just what he needed. He waited for the rejection but it never came. Instead, Derek leaned in closer and Stiles swore then and there that his heart stopped beating for a second. The kiss was... perfect. Short but deep. None of Isaac's kisses felt like this... they didn't make him turn into a puddle of goo. When they finally separated, Stiles felt... he felt nervous, dammit! But before he could react, Derek whispered an apology which made him frown in confusion. Stiles just stared at Derek for a few seconds, doe-eyed, before sitting back and not once taking his eyes off him as the rest of the group continued the game.
Erica snorted as Isaac turned bright red after kissing Lydia. The longer she spent observing Stiles' and Isaac's interactions, the more convinced she was that they weren't a thing, anymore. Which, okay, would explain why Isaac was avoiding her, but yeesh! She was his best friend. He was supposed to come to her with this sort of stuff. She was soon distracted from her irritation with Isaac when Derek's spin landed on Stiles. And, wow, that was way more progress than she was expecting. They were both staring at each other with hearts in their eyes. It was actually sort of gross. Erica jolted when she realized it was her turn. She spun, and barely managed to suppress a wince when it landed on Lydia. She started to move towards her before pausing to see if Lydia would rather strip.
Lydia winced in sympathy when Derek's spin landed on Stiles. She didn't think he'd reject him--though apparently Derek's alright with telling Stiles that he hates him--but she was worried if Stiles would reject Derek. Derek had yet to tell Lydia if he'd actually apologized to Stiles, but she didn't think it was likely. So when Stiles didn't reject him and Derek leaned toward him, she was a tad shocked, but not shocked enough to not look away. She was sure the rest of the pack didn't have the tact to look away, but well. That was to be expected. When she heard the bottle spinning again, Lydia turned back to the group, watching the bottle spin, noting that it was Erica's turn. When it landed on her, Lydia immediately shook her head. "No, I don't think so," she said, shrugging out of her jacket. "Maybe next time, Reyes, but probably not."
Stiles laughed hysterically. Watching Lydia reject Erica was the highlight of his night. Well almost the highlight. Kissing Derek had been... something different. Stiles reached for the bottle and span it quickly, once in a while still glancing up at Derek, before turning his attention on who the bottle stopped on. Isaac. Well then. Stiles glanced up at Isaac and let him decide on what to do.
Isaac looked up when Derek spun the bottle and the room fell quiet. Of course he'd gotten Stiles. He bit his lip before glancing over to Lydia, who was still watching them, a stunned look on her face. His eyes flicked up and he caught the tail end of the kiss - Stiles' rapt expression, Derek's whispered apology. It... didn't hurt as much as he'd expected it to. There was still a deep throb in his chest, knowing he would never have that, but - Stiles looked happy. Happier than he'd looked in a long time. He was so preoccupied with his thoughts that he barely noticed Lydia taking off her jacket. When Stiles spun the bottle, his stomach clenched as it came to a stop in front of him. He looked up to find Stiles looking straight at him. Isaac blinked and cleared his throat, before pulling off his cardigan. "Sorry, babe," he said, and blew Stiles a kiss before winking and settling back against Lydia's chair, his heart feeling lighter than before.
Scott was acutely aware of the tension in the room, but it seemed like it was lowering. Everyone seemed happy, despite what just had happened. Which was totally cool. Scott smiled a little, and then leaned down to spin the empty bottle. He didn't think he would say no to anyone, to be honest, but he didn't have any strong desire to kiss anyone either. The bottle slowed on Stiles, and Scott laughed a little. "Heeey, buddy," he said, and clapped Stiles on the back before leaning in.
Stiles smiled at Isaac and watched Scott take his turn. Of course it landed in him. Again. Stiles was either lucky or seriously out of luck. He didn't know which one just yet. He grinned "Come and get it, Scotty." He leaned in to close the distance between them. He gave him a big sloppy kiss and laughed through it.
Cora rolled her eyes at everyone, not even bothering to try to keep up with the emotions whirling around. She wondered if Derek would let any kiss her now, someone other than Erica. She didn't exactly need his permission--obviously--but the rest of them seemed to not want to get on his bad side. Whatever. If it made Derek happy to pretend he had any control over her, Cora would let it go. When it appeared to be her turn, she leaned forward and spun the bottle. She watched it, after a quick glance at Derek out of the corner of her eye, and nearly groaned when it landed on Scott. She turned to Derek first, raising her eyebrow, before turning to Scott, not waiting for Derek to object. If he would. She went over to Scott and kissed him, keeping it brief. When she pulled away, she made a face. "I can taste the pesto, Scott, thank you."
Scott looked briefly at Derek, making sure that it was okay that he kiss Cora. When he turned back to Cora, her mouth was immediately on his, and his eyes widened a little. He didn't even have time to relax into the kiss. She told him he had pesto breath, and he made the face back at her. "Thank Stiles," he said, then turned to Stiles mock-accusingly.
Isaac felt a little more at ease by the time the bottle had been passed back to him. This time, it landed on Boyd. Before he even had a chance to say anything, Erica whipped off her leather jacket. "Sorry, hon, but he's mine," she said, winking at Isaac. "Hey," Isaac protested, "Boyd never spun!" Erica just grinned back at him. To tell the truth, the only person Isaac had really wanted to kiss had been Lydia, and, well, he'd gotten his wish. He passed the bottle over to her with a smile.
Lydia smirked at Cora's comment, giving a soft laugh at Scott's indignation. She rolled her eyes at Erica, before accepting the bottle from Isaac. She spun it and hoped--only for her hopes to be dashed as the bottled landed on Erica. Lydia sighed. "Still a no, sweetheart," she said, pulling off her shirt. It wasn't that cold in the loft and she could deal with sitting through the rest of the game in her bra.
Erica grinned down at Boyd after stripping off her jacket. He just tightened his grip on her ankle, his mouth quirked up in a half-smile. It was probably silly of her to prevent Isaac from kissing him, but she knew Boyd didn't mind her stepping in on his behalf. When Lydia's bottle landed on her, she smirked over at Lydia. Sure enough, she stripped off her shirt, revealing a lacy purple bra. For a second, Isaac looked like he was about to hyperventilate. Erica was barely able to keep herself from cackling.
Derek glanced at Lydia as she took off her shirt, and stood up to go grab her a blanket. He returned and draped it over her shoulders, because, hey, they were friends, he didn't want her getting cold. And then there were eyes on him, so he bent down and spun the dumb bottle. He sighed in relief, when it landed on Boyd, hoping at best, Erica would veto the kiss, and at worst, it would be a little awkward. Derek glanced at Erica, and when she showed no signs of stopping him, he sighed and awkwardly leaned into Boyd.
Erica watched, amused, as Derek awkwardly shuffled towards her boyfriend. She had half-considered ditching her shirt to prevent the kiss, but Derek looked so pained, she figured it would be funnier to let him. Besides, she didn't want to be sitting in her bra like Lydia. She swiped the bottle from in front of Derek and watched as it spun to a stop in front of Stiles. She batted her eyelashes. "Hey, babe. You gonna pucker up?" she asked, pursing her lips and leaning forward.
Stiles couldn't take his eyes off of Derek and he was sure people would start to notice soon. He could't help it! Who the hell tells you they hate you then kisses you and apologizes. Derek freaking Hale, that's who. When did Stiles' life get so complicated. Oh right, since the whole werewolf thing. He'd admit, Derek kissing Boyd was hilarious. Stiles smiled brightly at Erica and puckered his lips in exaggeration and leaned in to kiss her. The kiss didn't last long but he'd be lying if he said Erica wasn't a good kisser because wow. Stiles leaned back, hyper and excited, not remembering the last time he felt this carefree, and span the bottle only for it to land on Erica again. He laughed and with a wink he took off his shirt to make things a little more exciting.
Scott glanced at Lydia as she stripped, then looked away quickly. He didn't want to make her uncomfortable or anything. He leaned in after a moment of hesitation, realizing that they had made their rounds again and it was his turn again. He spun the bottle, and didn't move at all when it landed on Derek. It couldn't be that bad of a kiss, but Scott didn't exactly know how he would respond, so he waited. Sure enough, Derek uttered an even, "no," and stripped off his shirt. Scott nodded, muttering, "right, thank you." He didn't exactly want to be shirtless if Allison wasn't here.
Cora smothered down the urge she had to cat call when Stiles took off his shirt, believing that Derek probably wouldn't appreciate it. She did roll her eyes though when he took off his shirt. It was Scott for Christ's sake. Cora spun the bottle, after a sigh, and smirked when it landed on Erica. Again. "Someone's popular today," she said. This time, Cora went to Erica. She cradled Erica's cheek and then turned her head a bit to wink at Boyd before she turned back to Erica, and kissed her.
Erica grinned when Stiles' spin landed on her, this time opting to take off his shirt. She whistled at Derek when he took off his shirt, too. When Cora spun and it landed on her - again - she blinked in surprise. She really hadn't suggested this game so that she could get a ton of kisses out of it, but she didn't really mind it, either. Especially when it gave her an excuse to kiss Cora. More than once, even. "I'm always popular," Erica said, smirking before threading her hands through Cora's hair and kissing back. Boyd looked at her knowingly as Cora walked away, and she kicked him gently.
Isaac felt increasingly restless as the game continued. He was hyper aware of Lydia sitting in her bra. Derek had given her a blanket to wrap around her shoulders, but the bright purple still peeked through whenever Isaac chanced a glance behind him. He felt a twinge of annoyance when Erica made no move to stop Derek from kissing Boyd. He felt strangely more jealous of Erica and Stiles' kiss than he had of Derek and Stiles', but before he had the chance to analyze why, Stiles was stripping off his shirt, and Isaac felt a jolt of arousal. He closed his eyes against the sight of Stiles, bright and happy and laughing, until Cora passed him the bottle for his turn. He grinned, praying for another shot at kissing Lydia, or at least Erica or Scott, so he wouldn't have to deal with being vetoed yet again. When the bottle came to a stop in front of Stiles, though, his smile faltered. He was just sitting there, staring at Derek and exuding nervous excitement and happiness, and Isaac wondered why he'd ever agreed to this stupid game of spin-the-bottle. Probably the same reason he'd suggested the fake dating plan: hopeless optimism and hormones. He couldn't even force a smile as he stood and pulled his shirt over his head. "You know what? I don't think I want to play anymore," he said, dropping his shirt on the floor. "You guys have fun, I'm going upstairs. Come get me when the movie starts." He frowned. "Or not, whatever."
Stiles shivered as the cold air in the loft got to him but he let it slide because he was having far too much fun to worry about being cold. Wow, what a change of events. He had been one of the few who thought this game wouldn't end well and here he was, practically bouncing on his knees in glee. Kissing Derek had broke that awkward barrier and the apology seemed to help as well. He was definitely going to confront him about it later, though. No way was Derek going to get away with it. Nope. True to Cora's words, Erica was definitely popular tonight. After their kiss, it was Isaac's turn to spin the bottle. Stiles watched the bottle spin as if it was in slow motion and for it to finally land on... him. Again. Really... really. He was ready to unzip his pants and sit in his boxers all night if he had too but Isaac beat him to it and was already pulling his shirt off and making his way upstairs. Stiles wasn't sure if he should say something or do something, hell he didn't even know if Isaac would like it if he ran after him but because his actions always worked faster than his mind, Stiles was already up and trailing after him. Once he reached the stop of the stairs, he grabbed Isaac's shoulder lightly. "Hey- Hey! You okay, buddy?" What kind of question is that, anyway? Jesus. He clearly wasn't okay.
Lydia murmured a quiet, "Thanks," when Derek draped the blanket around her. She mostly just tried to keep her arms covered, wrapped in the blanket. She laughed at Stiles when he took off his shirt after spinning Erica again, and wished again that Allison was there when Scott spun Derek, who then took off his shirt. After Cora and Erica kissed again, Lydia sighed; again, too many guys in the room that probably enjoyed that too much. At Isaac's spin, she bit her lips, watching it land on Stiles. Isaac's explosion, however, she wasn't really expecting. Or Stiles chasing after him. She nearly swore, picking up her shirt but leaving her jacket. "We should probably go," she told the group, before chasing after Stiles and Isaac. Lydia reached them, her shirt still in her grip, and murmured, "I don't really think this should happen in a building full of werewolves."
Isaac jerked away from Stiles' hand when he felt it land on his shoulder. Stiles was still standing there shirtless, and it was so hard to keep himself from staring. "Oh, yeah, I'm doing great," Isaac snapped. "This whole thing where no one wants me to kiss their boyfriend, or their sister, but somehow everyone's fine with other people kissing them? That's been the highlight of my week. Oh, and watching you make out with my closest friends has been awesome." Isaac immediately regretted his words when he saw Stiles' expression. He sighed and pinched his nose, trying to figure out how to apologize, but Lydia ran up the stairs after them. Isaac turned and looked over at Lydia, who was looking back at him with concern, and he felt some of the tension drain out of him. "No, I know. You're right." He turned back to Stiles and inhaled deeply before speaking. "I'm sorry, just. Can we talk about," he gestured between himself and Stiles, "this, later?" He bit his lip. "Or, even better, never?"
Stiles flinched back at Isaac's words. How could he make it better? He wanted to make it better. But instead of voicing his thoughts, he just stood there, quietly, and let Isaac go on. Maybe, just maybe, if Stiles stopped and thought of his actions before doing it he'd, I don't know, stop making situations worse than they already were. For one, he wouldn't be stood here without a shirt and two, they wouldn't have dragged Lydia into the mess either. "Later? Yeah later is fine. I'm fine with later. Totally awesome... Y-eah." He nodded. He gave Isaac a look that said, we will talk about this. And glanced at Lydia before heading back downstairs.
Lydia bit the inside of her cheek at how defeated Isaac looked. She nodded at Stiles as he passed her. She paused for a moment, glanced behind herself, before she reached over and rested her hand on Isaac's upper arm. She squeezed gently. "We can leave, okay?" Lydia said. She offered him a sad sort of smile before taking her hand back and finally pulling her shirt back on. She grabbed Isaac's hand, giving it a squeeze before pulling him with her. "C'mon."
Isaac felt his heart skip a beat when Lydia's fingers brushed against his arm, before she curled her hand around his bicep and squeezed. He shook his head to clear it. Stiles had meant well, but... maybe it would be good to clear his head. Isaac's gaze dipped down to catch on the lacy edge of Lydia's bra and the soft curve of pale skin as it disappeared under her shirt. He could feel his cheeks heating up as he jerked his head away. "Yeah, I'd-" like that. "Thanks," he managed, and stared down at their joined hands in wonder as she tugged him down the stairs. "Sorry, but I think we're gonna bail," he called out when they entered the living room, giving a half hearted wave in Derek's direction and snatching his shirt from where he'd dropped it.
Stiles snatched his shirt up from the floor and put it back it. It was clear the night had come to an end and Stiles tried his best not to look too awkward standing there waiting for everyone to leave. Once Isaac and Lydia left, it seemed to put some sense into the rest of the group as they all got up and made their way out of the loft. Stiles dragged Scott with him to the side and patted his shoulder. "Scotty, I'm going to stay here for a while. Talk to... Talk to Derek, okay?" He gave Stiles a knowing look before leaving as well. Scott was the last to leave and as soon as he stepped foot outside, Stiles shut the loft door and hoped he wasn't making a mistake staying behind.
I don't think there's a single Teen Wolf fan alive who doesn't think Pack Night would be perfect but there are actual, real benifits to that:
Getting to know eachother better can really help in the future if something like the Nogitsune ever happened again so it's easier to tell if someone isn't acting like themselves
Harder to keep secrets if you see the same people atleast once a week and alot of them are werewolves, and the pack can probbably help with alot of problems
If somebody doesn't show up at Pack Night serious things have happened no more not noticing for days or more that someone hasn't been around/made contact
Getting a better grasp of everyone's strengths and weaknesses for obvious reasons
Just having the idea reenforced every week that they aren't alone in whatever they're dealing with
