So lemme break it down for you: A good artist will see another artists style and try to emulate or replicate that style as closely as they can. While on the other hand a great artist will select elements, techniques or ideas from multiple other artists work and incorporate it into their own work with unique mix of influences while also attempting to improve on those influences. By selectively taking (stealing) elements from various sources and then creatively combining their influences together, you will create something that is uniquely your own. These unique creations can hold layers on layers of depth and interesting stories and emotions. Anyway, I believe that anyone is a creative, and an artists. You just need to give yourself that creative freedom to pull influences in from your whole life experience and forge them into your own work no matter type of art journey you embark on (whether it be visual art, music, videography, writing, the corporate world. JUST BE YOU)... But this can only occur if you are open minded and willing to try out many of the wierd things this world has to offer... Expand your horizons, try out new things and become a multidimensional, multifaceted being and anything and everything you do will be unique giving off your specific signature.... By the way, I personally hate Picasso's work and feel like it's A class shit that really isn't worth the hype. But the man has some powerful quotes and philosophies... #ISLG #itsmellslikegrunge #pablopicasoquotes #artsouthafrica #southafricanart #southafricanabstractartist #southafricancannabisculture #southafricancreatives (at Johannesburg, South Africa) https://www.instagram.com/p/CDyVNrCjFyx/?igshid=fp7vei8hmk47
