                                            sometimes, they shared dreams.  Going through the tunnel was like taking a stroll through a kaleidoscope; shimmering, neon gems reflecting colors that only exist in dreams lit the way. She knew she’d traveled far enough when she reached that tall and opaque curtain they both called The Veil. “Yoohoo, Mr. Dreamboat?” she said. “You sitting on the other side, yet? The main attraction’s finally arrived!” However, the young woman’s playful teasing seemed unusually halfhearted that night. Dot knelt before the curtain, crossed her Sailor Moon pajama-clad arms, and sighed. 

“I broke up with my boyfriend,” she said.

He had, in fact, dumped her. But she’d sooner throw her official heart compact collection into a bonfire than admit that.

“Maybe it wasn’t such a good idea to date a Dove after all.”

Lexi took a quick shower and changed before getting herself ready to meet up with Wade at the bar. She needed it and was more than happy to be meeting up with someone she considered a friend. Going to her car and heading to the bar they agreed on, it only took her twenty minutes to get there. Grabbing a booth for the two, keeping an eye out for the man. Smiling and waving slightly once spotting who she was looking for. “Let’s start that one more kinda night, yeah?”

Sam shifted from foot to foot, her hand out but not quite touching the cold metal doors of the warehouse front. She’d followed his directions easily enough--walking to an unknown location was slightly more difficult when it wasn't GPS compatible, but following leads had taught her to be resourceful, taught her to learn the city streets like the back of her hand. Still, it wasn’t every day you tracked down a known mercenary and showed up on his front porch--or was it a training zone? Training. The word was thick on Sam’s tongue, not anything she’d ever expected, not the life she’d set out for herself when she’d covered her walls in those little strips of National Geographic, charted out plane rides to every country in the world. So why did it sound so damn right? 

It happened like most things. You knew someone who had a person who was able to get hold of a guy that could get you what you needed. It was the shadier part of being who she was, but she wasn't apologizing for it. Deadpool. That's what he was called. Honestly she didn't care so long as he got the job done. She stared at the five files laid out on her desk. Each one profiled a prominent scientist at Stark Industries that was working on something that'd advance the company a good few years ahead of A.I.M. once completed. The objective wasn't to delay the completion of their projects, they had other scientists and Tony fuckin' Stark to carry on important things of that sort. The problem was recruitment and retention.

No one wanted to work somewhere they didn't feel safe. If being in charge of a project at S.I. was equated to receiving a death sentence well then, it'd be near impossible for them to retain employees and easier for her to hire on the best scientists to help H.Y.D.R.A. Scare tactics were a bit heavy handed sometimes, but sometimes the circumstance called for it. It helped that by using a third party it made it almost impossible to connect the deaths to A.I.M or H.Y.D.R.A.

"You know, this feels strange, in a way. I mean, we have known each other a while, even had quite a bit of fun." She said with a wink.

"So, its strange to actually be on a 'First date' after all this time." She smiled.
