ā jiminnie : iām @ the university fountain if u can meet up. wanna apologize for yst.Ā
with a press of the send button, a jittery yoongi sighs, tucking his phone back into his jacket pocket, butt leaning against the side of the fountain. talking to namjoon, or more like namjoon counseling him until 4am, has straightened his once screw-loosed head. his heart is still completely shattered from the blow, but if jimin is happy, sacrificing it all is what will be done.Ā
the chilly wind blows light pink strands in front of his eyes, nearly blocking all vision until his fingers grace over to swipe them to the side. his body shaking is not due to the cold, more like due to the nervousness he feels. the thought of facing jimin only worsens it. hell, the boy might not even decide to show up, and yoongi wonāt blame him.Ā
a small white box with a chocolate cupcake inside is clutched in his right hand, in case the younger does meet him. it may not be the best apology gift, but letās not forget that yoongi is a very poor college student that canāt afford luxury shit. sighing once more, all thatās left to do is wait and hope his brat shows up.Ā

The first official week of classes had passed by in a complete haze. It was to be expected, really. After their sorting the week before, - the results of which left James more than ecstatic, delighted to be in the same House as Sirius and Remus, and their fourth dormmate, Peter, - and the hesitant, tense few days after Siriusā first ever Howler, the classes were almost at the back of his mind.
It was the least of his worries. Not when he had to think about spending the next seven years by Siriusā side, and certainly not when he had to think about how, exactly, the four of them would be spending those years. His timetable wasnāt so bad; but the one thing James certainly wasnāt looking forward to was sharing a class with the Slytherins the next day.
Slytherins. Meaning Severus. Meaning another class of Lily barely having time for him, and another class of trying to get her to talk to him, and ultimately failing. In hindsight, the incident on the train hadnāt been Jamesā proudest moment, a thought that only entered his head after he spotted Remusā grimace the moment Severus and Lily had left the compartment.Ā
Lily was right. James knew that, which was why heād been pacing around the Common Room for the past hour like a doting mother hen, waiting for her to come back from wherever she was so he could say just that. Lily was right, and James had been far too brash, and why had he singled Severus out as though being odd and quiet was a bad thing? Remus was odd and quiet, at times. Peter, too. Even Sirius, after heād received the Howler, and just because Severus had stalled in the doorway, and James had pointed out that it was weird, it wasnāt.. weird.
With a sigh, James sat in the closest armchair to the fire, slumping into the plush cushions. If he had to wait all night, so be it. He was determined to talk to her, even if it meant kipping on the couches.Ā
Letting the cabin door slam shut behind him, Angel dragged his feet over to his bed and collapsed on top of it. Today was the twenty-first of January. It was twenty-one days into the year two thousand thirteen. Twenty-one days that Angel felt like he had wool over his eyes. In a way the boy had gotten used to not remembering. Most people didnāt even catch wind or care about his accident so they just pushed Angel aside like any other normal day. No longer were people treating him like he was a glass statue but went back to ignoring his existence which was fine with Angel. If he knew he was being ignored then he didnāt feel as bad about his fear of people.
It would be so easy for Angel to be selfish. The lost memories would never come back if he never tried. That way Angel knew he could protect himself from the past that sometimes showed its ugly head in conversations and looked tempting but painful. If Angel never tried he could never get better, but then Angel knew all the people heād hurt the last twenty-one days.Ā All because the son of Hecate decided to be an idiot and push himself too far beyond his limits. There was the obvious person who he kept hurting over and over again, and in each conversation they tried to keep calm, but in the end it always blew up in their faces time and time again. Then there was the girl who called him Turtle that looked genuine excited to see him but no matter how hard Angel wanted to believe her stories it all seemed too bizarre. Angel didnāt believe he could ever get that close to someone like that. Then there was the boy Angel had heard people call āoracle kidā. Their chat had been brief but that didnāt mean Angel didnāt feel the tension and all the gaps left wide open because of times lost. Would it be wrong for Angel to stop trying in order to protect himself if it meant hurting all these people?
And then there was Miloā¦
Milo had been there since the very beginning. Angel already knew his friend wasnāt the biggest fan of having to deal with the son of magic when he went over board and passed out. The two had a knack for getting worried about the other. But to have to watch his friend talk nonsense before falling unconscious and then drag him across camp in the snow to find out the next day his best friend canāt remember two years of his life? Angel knew that Milo was hurting just as much as him, maybe even more, with everything that happened to Angel and that wasnāt fair. The whole point of being a sheltered person was so that other people couldnāt hurt him and he couldnāt hurt other people. Now Angel saw that his plan desperately failed and he couldnāt understand why people even bothered with caring about him. The past twenty-one days just proved all he did was hurt people over and over again. All his memories would do is remind him of more times he failed and hurt the people around him.
Taking a deep breath Angel reached over and grabbed both of his magic books. Heād spent a lot of time trying to see if any of the spells he performed with Milo could help him but none of them had the right affect on him that he was looking for. Then there was the master spell book. All the spells that Angel could find that might even slightly help his situation were levels way above what he was two years ago and the son of Hecate still hadnāt performed any magic in the past twenty-one days. After an accident that big Angel feared heād just screw up again and lose more of his memory. Deciding to act on his gut feeling Angel flipped to the first marked page in the master spell book and worked up the courage to make his magic.
Hours later Angel had made no progress. Sure he could clearly remember every bite of his breakfast this morning and now his Turtle, whose name is apparently Yurtle, was barking like a dog. Also, half the lights were blown out inside the Hecate cabin and Angel felt like he was about to crash any moment but he couldnāt give up yet. Angel felt like he was so close to his goal and if he quit now then heād forever be stuck on the edge of this cliff. Trying to measure how much magical energy he had left inside him, Angel knew he only had enough to do one, maybe two spells, before blacking out. Flipping to the very last spell he had marked the boy look a deep breath as he looked the spell over. Heād never even tried to perform a spell this powerful but its level of difficulty raised the chances that itād actually work if he performed it right. But a lot can go wrong with an if.
It was a simple three words to say but still so much could go wrong. Angel knew he could easily get distracted and suddenly he would find himself thrown back against the wall. Taking deep breathes Angel shut his eyes and focused solely on the spell, blocking out the rest of the world and all of his worries. Three simple words said perfectly but nothing happened. Opening his eyes in confusion Angel felt a jolt run through his body and the feeling of colliding against the ground but yet he was still standing perfectly fine. Angelās eyes filled with horror when he glanced down to see himself unconscious. That shouldnāt be possible! Was this what it was like to look at yourself after you died? Again a jolt ran through his body and suddenly it felt like Angel was watching things in reverse. Itās a strange watching himself move backwards in time and suddenly see all the damage heād cause vanish. Suddenly the rewind grew stronger as Angel recognized weeks passing in only seconds. It was hard to see him reject the girl in the doorway and witness his fight with Jinx again.
Now Angel was seeing things he didnāt recognize. A boy he remembered talking briefly to was fixing his jacket and he was talking to that girl in the beanbag chairs. No wait⦠that wasnāt just some girl. That was Kitty. How could he have forgotten L!? As his memories grew stronger the rewind became faster as well and the cabin morphed into different places. He was in chuck-e-cheese with Addie, Milo, Caine and L. Angel could feel once again that he was on the bottom of their massive dog pile in the ball pit. Angel couldnāt help but smile at the memory of his eighteenth birthday party. Time flew past Angel at lightning speed but he could still recognize them and remember the exact feelings from those moments. It pained him to watch the break up again and see his mother attack camp, his first and only true home, but they were greeted with other happy memories like his first kiss and pretending to be a dragon with L.
Gasping, Angelās eyelids flew open. The son of Hecate didnāt even care that he was on the floor of his cabin breathing heavily like he just ran a marathon. He could remember! Maybe some memories he wished he didnāt have to relive again but they were his. Two years of his life were finally filled back into his mind. With a wide grin Angel pushed himself off the ground and ran out of his cabin.
