They could have made it look more realistic, but they didnt. Those lines. That's not a temporary shading thing, because of what state this build is in or whatever, Thats a deli-bear-ate choice.
I saw a video of someone talking about how it looks like a CG Yu is watching the midnight channel, showing a 2D victim (no spoilers as to who) and how they thought it might be possible that CG cutscenes might still incorporate some 2D elements. Idk if that's true or not, (After all, the shots of Yu looking at the TV, and the tv itself are separate,
meaning its possible these are either from two different scenes, or that this scene starts or ends as a 2d cutscene, with the rest being CG. But It would be really really cool if it was actually a 2D/CG combo.)
but if that's the case I am even more excited than before. The possibility of that tantalizing combination.
