Jack had needed a day off. He had been so stuck, surrounded by the anguish of his family, and just the general stares he got around town. The ‘oh that’s him, their house burned down on the twin’s birthday and now the one brother is still in the hospital, sad isn’t it?’. He was still working, but he had been relegated to desk duty, because his boss was trying to be helpful and not make him go into the field again after having worked on two family members in the past little while, and thought it would help. But going out and working helped to keep his mind off of things, of everything going on, so instead all the thoughts were just kept locked away. The nightmares were also there, and now instead of one, there were multiple stories that played out, which meant that Jack was up and running more. But tonight, his friends had asked to see if he wanted to go out, and Jack had agreed, but on one condition. It had to be out of town.Â
His friends agreed, and they ubered to a club in the city. Jack could feel himself relaxing as they entered the city, because he knew that not everyone here from Asteria, or would know what happened or who he was. Entering the club, Jack was met with a darkened room and loud music that made it difficult to hear who was talking to you. Going to the bar, Jack and his friends each bought a round of shots and drinks. He was looking forward to cutting loose tonight, and if it meant that he didn’t remember all of it, that was ok.Â
