i’m really glad that it turned out to be a mistake but i’m also really glad that people reacted how they did. it shows a level of maturity that i really wasn’t expecting. it’s honestly very comforting to know that so many people can separate their love for them from their morality and understand that if they had, in fact, made the racist comment it seemed like they had, we would have reacted appropriately. it’s okay to be angry and to want them to be better people and this whole experience has honestly turned out really well considering the circumstances. the people who were angry and upset 100% had the right to be. the only concerning thing to me are the people who are saying they “knew they wouldn’t do that” because they absolutely could and seeing people be angry and call them out was exactly what we should have done. they finally addressed a problem and i think this whole experience means progress for all of us.
