Overwatch OC Week: Day 3 - Family

Day 1: Introduction

Syandra Loram, a former hero of Overwatch who fell from grace and became a bio-terrorist. I always did have a soft spot for awful villains. No icons because I haven’t made them yet, and I just wanted to get this out before it was too late

DAY 1: INTRODUCTION

AKA I forgot to add some wrinkles and such on the second image to show some age. The one I spent most time on to get an actual idea of how she’d look. And I have no idea how to draw hands. And know nothing about weapon designs, so I gave up and had her weapon be something like Symmetra’s but with a glove. So when close enough she will “connect” with an enemy and steal their health, which fills her ammunition-meter. She cannot do more damage when it is full, and the way to empty it is to right-click, which will heal herself unless she targets an ally. Honestly I was just being lazy because I didn’t want her to carry anything actually fatal, and had more fun trying to imagine some semi-creative abilities instead.

Okay so since I was told about this, I was really interested in it! So I’m gonna participate in OC week with my main OC, Psyche. Since I’m a writer and can’t draw, I’m gonna approach Day 1 with a more... profile-like approach.

Appearance-

     Luke is a tall and willowy man, standing around 6′2″ and weighing only around 158 lbs. He has a light, almost pale, complexion that is relatively clear. Atop his head is wavy light blonde hair that is slightly messy, as if tousled or only slightly styled. His eyes are a pale blue. His facial features are soft and youthful, making him appear a few years younger than his true age. Along his spine is a long metal cybernetic implant, surrounded by extensive surgical scarring.

Personality-

     Luke has a rather reserved, shy personality when he is not in a combat/mission environment. Growing up without normal human social interaction, he is rather stunted in how to interact with others, and he tends to retreat inward due to this. Due to his conditioning by Soma, he has a deep seeded fear of making mistakes, so it makes him feel safer to simply retreat back into his own mind. He is a gentle and sensitive man who feels strong empathy for others, however, and it drives him to want to help others. His mind is naturally inquisitive and he enjoys learning new things.      When in a combat situation, however, Luke becomes rather focused. His training from Soma has allowed him to compartmentalize his personality when he has to fight. It helps keep his normally meek nature at bay and allows him to concentrate and further use his abilities. While he may be meek, though, he contains within him the capacity for great emotional strength. This spark was what allowed him to break free of Soma. But it not something that always presents itself, but he is learning how to be that way more often.

Biography-      Luke was born in the area of Vancouver in British Columbia. Both of his parents were researchers with the corporation ‘Soma Biotechnology’, a large biotech firm and and a leading force in the field. When he was very young, it was discovered that he would be a perfect candidate for research at Soma’s neurological research facility. With their faith in the company being absolute, his parents gave him to the program. However, while they were told that it was neurological in nature, Soma’s true intention was to explore ways to expand human mental capacity.

     Through studying Luke, they realized his brain might hold the key to unlocking psionic potential. Upon this discovery, his parents access to him was immediately cut off and he was housed in the facility from that point on. Luke grew up in this facility, living regimented days of studies, research trials, and eventually surgeries. When he began showing psychokinetic abilities, his training began in how to hone those powers. While they provided anything Luke needed, his life was strictly regulated. He was kept in line with fear of punishment, which only intensified when his abilities manifested. Stepping out of line resulted in isolation or other like punishments. It was enough to keep him obedient for most of his life.

     He did have one friend, however. Another research subject in the facility by the name of Amy Watson. What little interaction they were allowed, they talked extensively about their studies and their thoughts. Luke didn’t feel completely alone, and it helped him greatly as he got older. However, the turning point was when one day Amy suddenly disappeared, and Luke’s inquiries were met with silence and being told to know his place. Not only was this the first time he got angry, but it was also when his perception of Soma began to crumble. He finally realized his complacency he had with all the horrible things this company was doing to him.

     When he finally worked up the courage, he realized enough was enough. Using his honed abilities, he took the suit they had designed for him to use and fled the research facility. He knew Soma would only use him as a tool for their own means, and for once he wasn’t okay with that prospect. He went on the run, evading any potential pursuit from the company that might try to reclaim their ‘property’. He pursued the remnants of Overwatch, hearing about the good they did for the world and hoped they would provide him some sort of asylum. Abilities-      Luke possesses psychokinetic abilities, enhanced by his neural implants and his power suit. In addition to remotely manipulate objects via telekinesis, he can project psionic projectiles. He possesses enhanced mental processing due to his neural implants which aids in the use of his abilities. However, he is rather physically frail, so he is not the most resilient person. He relies rather heavily on his psychokinetic powers in combat and his physical abilities are not much to write home about. I would likely consider him a ‘defense’ hero, specializing in creating an area where his psionic powers reign and controlling the battlefield with his mind.

Day 4- Crisis

When Jude met Bea for the first time when the omnic crisis had just ended. Jude had lost her home but Bea was willing to give her a new one. (anatomy is hard...)

Day 6: Domestic

I love domestic Knavis. They are so chill and calm to every single situation, and not surprised by anything. They take every day minute by minute, never really planning ahead, living in the moment.
