I love the face on the second drawing of Hanzo, and Genji's design is kind of interesting because he has claw gauntlets and his sword is on his hip

I’m generally amused by the details in the lab map because, as a senior biology student who is currently doing genetics research, the map designers tried to sprinkle in “Moira is being so unethical about her work:(“ but it just isn’t always accurate

I don’t know if this got fixed in Overwatch 2, but several times in Overwatch 1, I would get a Winston Moira interaction where Winston would just be so disgusted by the “science you do here” but, it, would be, the wrong map,, so he’d just be standing in the restaurant, glaring at the kitchen I guess?

There’s a copy of one of Mercy’s papers in the lab which I guess is supposed to imply how Moira is stealing her research,, but like,, you can read other scientists’ papers, you just have to cite your sources and all which I’m guessing she didn’t, but without the context of random voice lines you could just assume that she’s just,, keeping herself up to date on pertinent information in her field, oh noooo

She does also have Reaper’s military super soldier folder which is interesting and also says Classified on it so at least that one is actually stolen, good job, you did a crime!

In non Moira related news: the side room with the mini heath pack by the capture point has a window into a lecture hall! It took me a long time to notice it but the dark wall is actually a window

Alright, so the Overwatch Team released a long statement and I wanted to express my opinions on it. (The photo underneath is their statement).

Overall, I'm glad that they put out this statement. I saw that a lot of people on Twitter were upset about it, but I think that the statement and the action they say they are going to take are needed.

Firstly, I'm very happy that they are changing McCree's name. He was named after a Blizzard Dev who "was part of the "Cosby Crew"" and was connected to the sexual harassment lawsuit(here is an article about it, read it). Having a character named after you in a successful video game like Overwatch is an honor and an abuser like that doesn't deserve said honor. With that said, there needs to be a lot more work done at Blizzard to make the work environment better for their female employees, but I think renaming a character as to not glorify an abuser is a step in the right direction.

Secondly, we will be getting a new Free For All map in September called Malevento! It's set in the Italian mountainside with a beautiful church, a Talon safe house, and a memorial for the Italian voice actor of Soldier 76, Roberto Draghetti, who passed away in the summer of 2020. Although I wish we could have another QP/comp map to play, I know we aren't going to get one until OW2 because they are creating maps specifically that fit 5v5. So, we won't get any more maps for 6v6 OW; making more 6v6 maps would be counterproductive. If you want to get a better look at the map, check out this video showcasing it.

Finally, we will be getting more McCree lore in the future that ties back into his name change. Even though they will be "delaying the new arc until later this year", I'm still excited about it because it means we will be definitely be getting more lore stuff this year. I will be doing a short theory going over that and the Malevento Talon connections.
