art on my character in Overfield~ 🎹💚💙
Just what. Is. OverField.
I gave it a try and, gotta say, it's one of the laziest globalizations I've played in the past five years. Not resizing the text boxes for the new text, translating the same thing multiple ways to add to the confusion, and straight up just not translating things sometimes ...
And yet I don't care because it's so damn fun.
For as little effort as they put into the globalization, the amount of effort they put into the gameplay is astounding.
Overfield Tavern, Troy, Ohio - So last night we took a little trip back in time 200 years to the Overfield Tavern for dinner and live entertainment. All of the hosts were properly attired in period dress and acted the part. We had a blast! The tavern was built and established by Benjamin Overfield in 1808 in what was then the American frontier. Over the centuries it has at times doubled as Troy's courthouse, holding trials in the upper room. Today, it serves as a museum, preserving the building for posterity. Between the duck, the lamb and the pawpaw pudding (it tastes like pumpkin pie), we ate, drank and talked the night away. A big shout out to my buddy Alek for inviting us and also to his wife Samantha for really helping to make the evening special. Thank you both for everything! We will have to do this again! #MikeDoesHistory #history #education #dinner #Overfield #tavern #Troy #Ohio #duck #lamb #pawpaw #court #judge #instahistory #historygram #LikeMikeDoesHistoryOnFacebook #SubscribeOnYouTube (at The Overfield Tavern Museum) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bq6bw9hFUbd/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=18tvhtxeynst6

RADIO STATIC PHILLY’S RECOMMENDED RELEASE OF THE WEEK! Ma Jolie “Jetpack Mailman”
Hard hitting with quick attack, Ma Jolie creates some of the most killer punk rock to come out of Philly this year! The punchy bass riffs make a world of difference from any other band in town, the high paced drum work, fuzzed out guitars and raspy vocals create an EP that for only four songs is completely exceptional!
Recommended Track: “Pittsburgh” Follow Here: Facebook / Twitter / Tumblr / Webstore

Black Friday Death Count “Front Toward Enemy”
Super energetic punk rock will absolutely awesome vocal work, destructive riffs, deviating bass lines and fast as fuck drumming! Need to wake the fuck up? Put this album on, it’ll get you moving, quick!
Recommended Track: “Back Breaker 2 (Electric Vindaloo)” Follow Here: Facebook

The Cultour “The Cultour EP”
Really catchy indie rock with a retro vibe that will have your head nodding to the beat within seconds of pressing play! Slight psych undertones as well as a blending of other genres bring their sound to a whole other level!
Recommended Track: “Bring On The Night” Follow Here: Facebook / Twitter / Instagram

Igneous Eyes “Won Time”
Hard rocking psych track that has almost an 80’s heavy metal feel to it! The vocals have this washed out vibe that contrasts with the progressive heaviness of the track. Really interesting to say the least!
Recommended Track: “Won Time” Follow Here: Facebook

Mischief Brew “This Is Not For Children”
Punk rock with a great folky, gypsy feel to it. Completely upbeat, amazingly catchy and this effort shows that these guys are players! It’s an all around well rounded album that will get you on your feet and keep you moving through out!
Recommended Track: “This Is Not For Children” Follow Here: Facebook / Twitter / Website

Overfield “The Protagonist”
For their final release, these guys put some of the most honest and heart felt music down on these tracks. With a lo-fi, indie feel of these 4 songs, while somber, are really well written and recorded with an amazing attention to detail!
Recommended Track: “Step Ladder” Follow Here: Facebook / Twitter / YouTube

Rosetta “Quintessential Ephemera”
Almost as one continuous song broken into nine tracks, Rosetta sends you on a journey of atmospheric, spacey, post-metal progressions with a heavily emotional influence contrasted by some of the heaviest metal in the Philadelphia scene I’ve heard in 2015.
Recommended Track: “(Untitled VII)” Follow Here: Facebook / Twitter / Website

Satyagraha “2015”
Distinctly dissonant, hardcore act, Satyagraha, have put down some of the heaviest tracks that are catchy as fuck and will have your head banging in seconds of each song’s start! Definitely a guitar players album. Check it out now!
Recommended Track: “000000” Follow Here: Facebook

Wrecking Crew “FIDEL”
Highly infectious hip hop that will have your head nodding to the beat at the drop of the first beat! The beats are truly innovative, referencing some killer guitars as well as movie soundtrack samples while the rhymes are tight as hell! Definitely REQUIRED LISTENING!
Recommended Track: “They Call Me Castro (prod. by Blueprint)”

The One2s Release Music Video For "Cryer"
The One2s just released a new video for “Cryer” and it totally has that 90’s artistic / psychedelic vibe that many videos had at that time. Cityscapes of Philadelphia, New York and a west coast city that is presumably LA are layered over film effects and close ups of their gear. Their thick shoegaze, post punk sound compliments the video perfectly. All and all, a pretty solid effort off of “EP 2″ that translates to video seamlessly! Their next show is a bit off in the distance on April 27th with Overfield, Clustersun (ITALY!), Allora Mis and Panaphonic at Bourbon and Branch, but definitely plan to get out there, especially since the tickets are super cheap right now! They’re back in the studio recording so maybe by their next show they’ll have some more news as to when that release will be ready! So press play, get into The One2s and get to the gig on April at Bourbon and Branch!
