@outsiddr liked for a starter!
All of this snow and ice was getting old. Actually, it was getting old about four days ago. By now, the last wagon foolhardy enough to get into the mountains during this snowfall had turned back, and the driver had only given Garrett some vague directions to make the last summit on foot. It took some confidence to press forward into what was basically unknown, but the path was still visible and traceable and there - there! That had to be a wall; that was certainly Haven.
Slowly, Garrett could make out more tents, stables and other structures. And then a person, the first resident of this "Haven" that he'd ever met. They - or she - looked tiny, surely not a grown human. Garrett waved and approached, finally noticing her ears. She was one of the elves. He knew nothing else about her for now.
"Is this Haven?" He asked. "I could use a place to warm up. It's freezing out here - as you can probably tell."
