You said that you are not a Blackfyre stand, so why write a fanfic about Daemon?
Honestly Anon I feel like the biggest fraude ever when I see the sheer number of people who read this story. Like, I know they are here because they love Daemon and I'm like: not me.
Which is so funny because I am the only one on ao3 writing a long story about Daemon winning the war. So I am a reference for people who want to read that, but at the same time you are reading the story of a Targaryen loyalist.
I think I wrote it because I wanted to explore what could have been, explore my favourite period of Westeros with so many great characters (Brynden, Maekar...) and infuse the story with as much angst as possible. Call me Angsty Girl
Do Daemon and Visenya have a favourite child??

Daemon adores Rhaenys she really is the golden child. Which doesn't mean that he wouldn't give his life to protect the twins. Daemon loves all his children dearly.
Visenya favours her son Baelon over her daughters.
And poor Daenys, you might ask?
Well, she is love equally by her parents who sees her has the bridge between them. So she isn't neglected either.

It’s only just dawned on me that there are currently around two hundred readers on Black Bird, even though I’ve been posting more or less regularly for the past three years on a niche section of ASOIAF.
I’m just a girl who, as a teenager, used to draw the Targaryen family tree on her bedroom wall and fall asleep reciting the names of all Jaehaerys and Alysanne’s children in chronological order.
I’ve been writing for a long time, I’m currently submitting a manuscript to a publisher, and yet I believe fanfiction will always hold a special place in my heart. Black Bird is my first real long and ambitious project. I get so much pleasure from it... it’s truly the story I would have loved to read as a reader on AO3. I hope that for those who read it, that’s the case too.
