Like how her father was taken by the Rider and her mother became the chieftain and she has two older sisters who were warriors/hunters for their clan. Indis' father deemed that she was too soft for that sort of thing when she was born, because she was small and quiet unlike her sisters. and they stayed behind while Ingwe took little Indis and led some of their people over the sea.
