Oh boy, that oneās tough... I honestly really like how little there is to go on for Fontaine. It keeps him mysterious, and I honestly like how everything you can learn about him is total guesswork. I feel like... rewarded, for noticing the things I did and using them to back up my headcanons.
Honestly, though... if anything I wish we hadnāt gotten his backstory in the novel. John Shirley did his best but the Fontaine he portrays really doesnāt mesh well with the Fontaine in the games and it honestly seems to make things over-complicated. Especially the whole Gorland-stole-Fontaineās-identity-and-now-heās-Fontaine thing, like... what?
