The Stonewall Columbus Pride Parade would be normally going on right now, in its three and a half hour glory, from start to finish.  However, that has been postponed (for now), and in light of that, here are highlights from the Pride Parade TWO years ago.

The Stonewall Columbus Pride Parade in its four hour glory would have been yesterday.  Let’s hope that the curve is flattened and that it’s still on for October 3rd.  If not, here are highlights from last year’s parade, which saw an altered route, as floats and vehicles stayed on High Street, and marchers turned on Rich towards Bicentennial Park. 

Sunday, Rainbow UA, an LGBTQ support group in Upper Arlington held that city's first ever Pride Festival at Northwest Kiwanis Park (which is off of Henderson Road). There were speakers, and a LIVE DJ. Community organizations such as Columbus Community Pride, the Upper Arlington Public Library, SARNCO (Sexual Assault Response Network of Central Ohio), Equitas Health, and Franklin County Public Health had booths set up at the Festival with information for the community.

The 2015 Pride Festival was rained out following the Parade, which took place during a complete rainy downpour on a Saturday morning.

Last year for the 50th Anniversary of the first Pride Celebration, Sunday at last year’s Columbus Arts Festival (@artmakescbus) was dedicated to Pride, kicking off Pride Week in Columbus as “Pride At The Arts Festival” at the Bicentennial Park Stage with performances by the Columbus Gay Men’s Chorus and Capital Pride Band, featuring Virginia West.

Today is the 50th Anniversary of the Stonewall Riots.  The Stonewall Columbus Pride Festival was held a couple of weekends ago along Bicentennial and Genoa Parks in Downtown Columbus, capped off with the four-hour long Parade on June 15 which started from the Short North Cap and ended at the Festival’s doorsteps.
