It was a quiet night for Zoe but ever since her daughter’s disappearance, it felt like there was this dark cloud looming over her. All she wanted was for her daughter to be found. The little girl was her whole world, what was she supposed to do now? How was she supposed to carry on with her life? As the days passed, she found the police more and more hellbent on blaming her for Isabelle’s disappearance. Digging into her past, the few visits from social service, her stint at rehab and prison to prove she killed her daughter. That was the farthest thing from the world and it seemed like the young detective, Parker Davison, was the only one on her side and seemed to believe her. Hearing the doorbell ring, Zoe jumped up from her seat at the dinning room chair and rushed over to the door, hoping that it was news about Isabelle. Practically ripping the door open, Zoe’s eyes widened when she saw Parker standing in front of her. “Is she...?” she trailed off, too scared to actually say the word ‘dead’ out loud. “What’s going on? Why are you here?” She noticed that he had a more somber look on his face than a sad one. “Is everything okay, Parker?” x
