EARLY YEARS-;-

Eden was certainly born in the outer banks, and lived there all her life. Raised, however, that’s an entirely different story, a term used very loosely in the small Finnigan bungalow nestled in the cut. Her father ditched before Eden was born and she only remembers fleeting moments with her mother. It was her brother, Noah, who practically raised her; the only person she could ever really count on. 

Her childhood may have been difficult and certainly unconventional to say the least, but it wasn’t a total bust. Eden found ways to adapt and entertain herself, falling in love with the beach, the sand between her toes and the salty air in her tangles. She loved to splash around in the tidepools collecting shells and learning about all the small organisms she could get her little fingers on. It was the only thing that kept her busy while her parents were nowhere to be found and big brother was off teaching tourists how to surf. 

SCHOOL/TEENAGE YEARS-;- 

Academics came easily to Eden. She was a naturally curious student and read anything and everything she could get her hands on. Much to her surprise, she made friends easily, her curious and oftentimes blunt demeanor somehow managing to charm her classmates. It also helped that Noah was her big brother. She took it in stride and wore her association as Noah’s little sister as a badge of honor, even earning the nickname “Lil’ Finn.”

As Eden entered her teen years, she began to realize that her natural abilities came with tremendous pressure, everyone always seeming to remind her of her potential and that if she played her cards right she could get out of this town and achieve great things. The pressure surmounted, and Eden couldn’t shake the feeling that no matter what she was bound to be stuck in the OBX forever destined to repeat her mother’s mistakes.

It was only a matter of time before the youngest Finnigan began her rebellious phase out to prove that she was no longer a little girl. New attitude, new style, new curfew, new string of lovers, oftentimes disappearing to stretches of time (like mother, like daughter). But somewhere beneath her bold lipstick and short denim skirts lies the curious little girl who wore starfish for earrings and splashed around in tidepools. She is a hopeless romantic at heart who wants the fairytale and craves to quench her growing hunger for knowledge. 

COLLEGE-;-

After graduation, Eden took a year off to find herself and save up some money before getting her act together and applying to college. She managed to get into the local community college while balancing her job as a beach attendant with the hopes of someday becoming a marine biologist. After a year of study, she has decided to put her education on hold again, unable to keep up with the cost of school even with the help of financial aid. She hasn’t mentioned this decision to anyone yet, especially not to Noah.

When the opportunity to make a few appearances on a reality TV show presented itself, Eden couldn’t pass it up. If she made a little extra cash, she may be able to continue her education and realize her dreams of becoming a marine biologist. Besides, anything was better than checking badges and managing rentals for kooks and tourists at the beach all summer long. 

SEASON 1-;-

Eden only had a short stint on the show for season 1. She was brought on to make a few cameo appearances at the end of the summer in hopes of stirring up drama for her brothers Finn and Wiley. 

SEASON 2-;-

Season 1 ended rather amicably for Eden, gaining her a handful of new friends in addition to a very small level of celebrity in the Outer Banks. People began to recognize her more as “Finn’s little sister from that show” and her social media following also began to increase. She used this growing platform to promote her love for the ocean, often posting about her aquatic discoveries and how to keep the ocean waters clean.  

Despite the small perks that came along with being on the show, Eden remained in the Outer Banks once it ended. While everyone was off traveling the world and enjoying their new lives outside the show, she continued to work at the beach and picked up odd jobs here and there. She only made guest appearances and therefore didn’t receive as large of a payday as she had hopped. And besides, who else was going to make sure that Finn had his Coco Berries? She kept in touch with a few of her friends from the show and constantly texted her “big sister” Naomi about her travels.

Eden was asked back for season 2 and this time as a season regular. She agreed again not only for the money, her ambitions to get herself back in college still very much alive and well, but also to spend more time with her new boyfriend, Connor. The relationship, when put to the test outside in the real world, ended in disaster playing out publicly for the nation to see. He went back to his ex, and Eden was left heartbroken taking out her anguish on those closest to her. MTV was quick to capitalize on her moments of weakness, even airing her screaming match with her older brother who had been right the whole time. 

POST SEASON 2-;-

Upon watching the play back of her first full season on the show, Eden couldn’t stomach the person she was made out to be. Too whiny, too naive, too much of a pushover, and the one thing she begged her ex not to make of her: a fool. Instead of staying in the Outer Banks sulking like a beached whale, Eden decided to make the most of her break from the show, trading in her ocean awareness updates and donations to local “clean up our beach” charities for bikini selfies, skinny dipping, and wild nights out she couldn’t remember in the morning.

When Eden found out that season 3 was going to be held in Australia, the youngest Finnigan practically started packing for the trip the moment she found out. She had never been out of the country let alone across the world and a new city would also give her the perfect chance to start fresh, meet new people, and maybe find an Aussie or two to shack up with. God, how she loves their accents.  

This season Eden is determined to reinvent herself even if it means putting her dreams of going back to school and studying marine biology on the back burner and not being true to her naturally curious and dorky herself. This time, she would not be taken as some lovesick teenager any and she sure as hell would not become another carbon copy of her mother.  

POGUES VS KOOKS-;-

Eden doesn’t get directly involved in the pogues vs kooks drama, but she can’t help but feel jealous of the kooks and their wealth. It bothers her that even the slackers get accepted into the fanciest colleges while she has to struggle just to make ends meet. That’s not to say Eden will simply turn the other cheek and she’s not afraid to stand up for herself in front of the kooks. Push her too far, and that famous Finnigan temper is bound to explode.

sienna never had the best home life. she moved to the cut when she was five years old after her dad left her mom , and the lack of steady income forced them into a run-down mobile home

it was a better situation overall, considering how verbally and sometimes physically abusive her father was to her mom, and even at a young age she knew that it was fucked up

after they moved, her mom started working two jobs – grocery store by day, bartending by night – leaving sienna to step up and practically raise her younger brother (younger by two years).

this caused a really strained relationship between sienna and her mother, but also forced her to grow up very, very quickly.

she was a good student and always studied her ass off, knowing if she ever wanted to attend college, her grades had to be perfect. there was no way she’d be getting in without some kind of scholarship.

however, after graduating high school she put college on the backburner – opting to stay in town, continue to help her mom & brother out on the money aspect of things.

she’s been working at the same restaurant since she was seventeen, and though her tips aren’t as great as they used to be, she has tons of regulars from around town who make the job worth it

when she heard about the show rolling into town, at first, she was absolutely against it. why would anyone want to be seen on tv, coming from somewhere like the cut?

but as she looked at their run-down home and her mother still struggling with income, she knew the fame and notoriety that might come from the show would somehow help with their situation. right?

as for the pogues vs kooks situation – fuck the kooks.

she didn’t always feel that way, though. for a while, they seemed almost alien-like to her – a different breed. people with absolutely no sense of what it’s like to struggle, to wonder if you’ll get to eat dinner or not that night.

as she grew up, though, she saw them for what they really were (in her eyes at least) – greedy, selfish, air-headed, assholes.

it all started when she decided to sleep with a kook at a party her senior year – she was drunk, he had been all over her in hidden hallways where no one could see, so why not, right?

when she went to school a few days later and found out pictures had been spreading around, of her, it lit a fire of pure anger in her that she had never felt.

despite reporting it to the staff, no one would confess where the pictures originated from. it was her word against someone else’s. and who would believe a white trash pogue over a kook with a lawyer daddy, right?

if you ask sienna, she isn’t ashamed of being from the cut anymore. it raised her with morals, values, respect, and an appreciation for the simple things in life. if anyone wants to talk down to her, she’ll listen with fists ready to fly.

sienna did everything she could to lay low after the first season ended. staying off social media, not going into big gatherings, choosing to shy away from group or individual interviews.

she used the money to help find a better house for her mother & brother, and opting for a small apartment for herself.

she was still serving tables at the restaurant, keeping in touch with the other cast mates.

season two, she stayed to herself for the most part, even opting to leave the show for a week. she figured she was there to have fun and found no reason to get involved with the drama the second time around.

however, laying low during season 2 was apparently not a good move. she didn’t make nearly as much money in the end as she did in the first season, with the producers claiming she “didn’t bring much energy or drama to the show anymore”, and almost choosing to let her go.

knowing she needs to step things up if she wants to continue supporting both herself and her family, she is coming into season three with claws ready and head held high, ready to bring season one sienna back -- only ten times as hard.

so he was born to a young couple who were so so so in love and despite everything ( money, age, stress ), his parents were really able to make things work

so even though their life wasn’t the best, declan grew up with a lot of love. and when he was five, his mother announced that she was pregnant with his little sister, maggie 

as soon as his sister was born, he immediately assumed the role of big brother at the age of six. he was eager to help his parents do everything he could to help raise her

this is where his personality trait of protective comes into play. he’s incredibly protective over his family and those he cares about. probably got into fights when he was younger if someone just said something negative about his friend or sister

however because he is so protective, sometimes this can be perceived as him being overbearing. he doesn’t mean to come off this way, it’s just that he wants the best for those he cares about!

growing up, his family was super close and his sister is his best friend. they never had much, but they had each other and that’s all that matters.

with his friends, he’s not a completely different person, but it’s obvious that he’s more relaxed ( even if he is kinda still the Dad Friend; think remus lupin- still a marauder but having some sort of reservations about everything they do )

so when it came to the show in season 3, he was still a little nervous about it, but he knows that it would be good money from something that doesn’t have him working in the hot sun everyday, even if he has to work with kooks ( yeah, he still kinda plays into the kook vs pogues thing; it’s in his nature )

EARLY YEARS;

Ethan Wood was born and raised to do one thing and one thing only: play soccer. Being the middle child of legendary University of North Carolina starting forward Olivier Wood and renowned athleisure wear designer Daphne Wood, there was only one path for this budding young soccer prodigy. And it was to follow in daddy’s footsteps donning the prestigious Carolina blue and white of his father’s alma mater. 

His childhood was pleasant, raised on his family’s estate in the coveted Eight and filled with family getaways and father/son trips to UNC/Wake Forest rivalry matches. Matches that he hoped to one day play in. Young Ethan was a natural talent and he picked up the game rather quickly, spending every free moment practicing in the yard or scribbling down strategies. He wanted nothing more than to make his father proud and carry on his legacy. 

HIGH SCHOOL;

Ethan was sent to one of the finest private schools on the island that money could buy. Of course, he wasn’t there for his grades and what he lacked in brains, his skills on the field made up for. He made varsity soccer his freshman year and then went on to become captain during his senior year, reveling in all the perks that came with being a star athlete: parties, hookups, popularity. As Ethan’s athletic abilities along with his ego continued to grow, so did his competitive edge, arrogance, and hot temper which is known for getting him into trouble on and off the pitch. He’s no stranger to an alcohol induced bawl and struggles to keep his temper under control. 

COLLEGE;

It’s no secret that in the OBX money talks and Mr. Wood had deep pockets. A library donation and a legacy later, Ethan finally realized his dream and secured a spot on his beloved UNC soccer team. His temper being the reason for the trouble in the first place. It didn’t take long for him to become the frat star worthy of his reputation. Sure, he had to overcome those pesky freshman years, team hazing, and locker room banter, even spending the half a season on the bench for his hot headed temper. Nonetheless, he managed to make a name for himself even if slightly tarnished.

SEASON 1; 

Fresh off his college graduation, Ethan returned to the Outer Banks with his sights set on playing professional soccer in the upcoming season. Before entering the real world in the fall, he joined the show for one last hurrah and boy did he get what he signed up for. The summer was filled with all sorts of shenanigans, parties, booze, and hook-ups. 

Ethan rounded out the first season of OBX rather unscathed, save for a secret hook-up and an unlikely friendship that he formed with a pogue. He gained some notoriety from the show and it was a perfect launch for his new life in the public eye.  

SEASON 2; 

Ethan started footy training in the fall after the reality show ended, and he played for Inter Miami FC, a team owned by David Beckham himself. He took up residence in Miami for the soccer season and traveled the country with his team becoming the soccer star he always wanted to be. His rookie season was one for the books, and if you thought his ego couldn’t get any bigger, check again. 

In his off time, Ethan maintained his growing popularity by making appearances at all the Miami hot spots and keeping up a rather impressive social media presence, constantly posting his fitness routines and workouts in addition to his nights out. This earned him a reputation off the pitch, and his name managed to find its way into the local papers and magazines. He did his best to keep in touch with his friends from the show despite his busy schedule, and even visited the OBX whenever he could. 

With his first professional soccer season in the books, Ethan returned to the reality show for another summer, much to his PR team’s dismay who was working to clean up with reputation, not add to it. It was another summer filled with partying, booze, and messing around. A well deserved celebration after a triumphant soccer season. Ethan grew closer with his housemates and even started forming stronger connections with some of them as family, friends, or more. 

POST SEASON 2;

High off another successful season of Outer Banks, Ethan went back to Miami with a newfound air of confidence about him and an extra pep in his step. He worked and trained twice as hard, determined to play even better than last year. He managed to  keep up his scoring average and earned ‘man of the match’ in several games. Ethan spent less time in the OBX, but instead invited his buddies to come matches and come visit whenever he got the chance. He loved to preform and there was something about having the cast around that made him play even better. 

With only a handful of games left, Ethan suffered an injury that cut his season short. He tore his MCL and spent the months leading up to the summer recovering and going to physical therapy in Miami. His PR team advised him against returning to the show to focus on getting in shape for the upcoming season, but Ethan couldn’t pass up the opportunity to spend the summer in Australia with his crew. 

POGUES VS KOOKS;

Ethan got into his fair share of Pogues vs Kooks scuffles back in high school. Nights filled with stupid boyish banter, booze, and blows. He likes to think he’s above all the rivalry now— playing pro ball and all—  but sometimes he still struggles to truly let go of the past and be the bigger person. He’s an athlete though and though, and rivalries are all just a part of the game.

HEADCANONS;

Despite the ever present confident air about him, Ethan is super generous especially when it comes to nights out and tipping. He is always happy to pick up the tab and doll out rounds of shots for him and his buddies at no charge. As selfish as he can be sometimes, he loves it when his friends are having a good time and is a firm believer in the more the merrier.

To help him keep his tempter on and off the pitch under control, Ethan got into boxing/mma and incorporates it into his workouts whenever he can. He can be found either going to a gym to practice his upper cuts or on beach working on them on his own. He does it mostly for fun, but every now and again finds himself having to throw down. 

For the most part, Ethan can’t really cook, but on the off chance he’s not sneaking out after a one night stand, he makes a killer breakfast, usually in his boxers.

He has secret love for astronomy and mythology particularly hero myths and the stories behind the constellations. Growing up, he always found them fascinating and was the only one of his brothers who would actually sit and listen to his grandfather babble on about them. Those were some of his most cherished memories, and he often celebrates his goals by blowing a kiss to the heavens to dedicate them the ol’ man. 

Moana is his absolute favorite Disney movie, and he will never say no to watching it. He also thinks Maui is the shit and knows all of the words to “You’re Welcome” by heart. Beware, he will actually belt it out if asked.

WANTED CONNECTIONS;

let’s make ‘em jealous; There’s no denying that Ethan and this person have chemistry. They are super flirty and all over each other, but in reality it’s all a rouse. They aren’t really into one another and are merely using each other to stir up some drama, cause a scene, and make the ones that really do catch their eyes jealous.  [OPEN]

the role model; Ethan didn’t really have many positive role models to look up to growing up, mainly just his father and his toxic masculinity. cole was born in chicago, illinois as the middle child of four sisters. his family was pretty well off, your typical southern baptist white picket fence type of thing.

cole always felt a little overshadowed by the buckingham sisters, being the only boy and stuck in the middle. ever since he was little, he felt the need to act out and be seen in any way he could

all throughout school he was crazy outgoing, loved to talk and make friends with everyone he met. he was very smart and musically inclinded, and figured he was doing what he needed to stand out among the buckingham siblings.

he never had a good relationship with his parents – always feeling out of place, and a lack of attention and nurture.

when he was sixteen , his family decided they wanted to move out of the city and go somewhere a bit more laid back. they packed their bags and moved to obx, finding a nice, big house in the eight.

when cole started at his new school, he started falling into the wrong crowd, almost as a way to defy his parents and the cookie cutter lifestyle they wanted for their family. he was sneaking out, getting high, grades started slipping, the whole thing. his parents were really hard on him over this which only made their relationship that more strained. he wasn’t super close with them to begin with.

due to this sort of rebellious phase that lasted way too long, cole fucked up pretty much any chance of getting into a good college. he didn’t apply to many, and the ones he did, he didn’t get accepted.

when he was 18, he made the decision to move out & bought a small apartment in the cut. he never really understood or cared about the whole pogue and kook dynamic, so moving didn’t really have any effect on him other than getting him away from his parents.

he doesn’t talk to them much, but visits his sisters whenever he can.

it was rough for that first year of being on his own– working small jobs here and there, moving from shitty apartment to another, but along the way, he started to develop a hobby that he’d always had growing up: photography.

he saved up enough money to purchase a decent camera, and started taking photos for live events that occurred at a local bar he’d been working at in the eight. both himself and his place of employment realized the eye and talent he had, and this soon led to one of the biggest breaks in his career.

his big break came when he toured with an up and coming band as their photographer for a few months, growing his following and making a name for himself. ever since then he’s been working at different concert venues all over north carolina as a photographer making a very decent paycheck, and has stacked up a pretty big following on instagram.

he figured the show would be a fun way to make some friends and get some more exposure for himself , but isn’t really in it for the rivalry side of things.
