We are back with one of the most followed series at this home, Secuencia X Friends, and this time we join forces with a friend: Oussama K. Oussama is a very talented guy from the electronic scene of Lyon (France) with several productions and a sophisticated dj set we are really proud to drop here. We talked to him and we had a very nice conversation, here you have an extract: "I have many influences when it takes to music. I won’t quote any artist in particular, there are too many… I like chords and free construction from the jazz; the dreamy and opened sounds from ambient rawness and metallic sounds from the electronic stuff, and of course, the groove and simplicity from house music. In every project I work on, I try to expose all these aspects with my ideas and go further with it. But of course, all these are preferences, not rules. I don’t like to put myself in borders and pray to be labeled as a «House producer». I really do like FM synthesis and digital synths. The hardest thing for me nowadays is to find a workflow that really stimulate us everyday, without pushing you in every opposable direction. As DAWs do. Early electronic artists were limited by their gear and that what gave them their sounds. Now that you have every sound possible, it takes twice more efforts to your brain to find your path through the infinite possibilities and someway it’s an interesting challenge. I’ve no idea why some people are leading a crusade for the «old analog stuff» and ruin themselves or their parents to make stupid stuff that sounds like a car wash, convinced that it’s the «real sound». Estamos de vuelta con una de las series más seguidas en esta casa, Secuencia X Friends, y esta vez unimos fuerzas con Oussama K. Oussama es un virtuoso de la escena electrónica de Lyon (Francia) con un gran número de producciones y un sofisticado dj set, del cual estamos realmente orgullosos de lanzar aquí. Hablamos con él y tuvimos una conversación muy agradable, aquí tienes un extracto: "Tengo muchas influencias cuando hablamos de música, no voy a citar a ningún artista en particular, hay demasiados... Me gustan los acordes y la libre construcción del jazz; los sonidos oníricos y abiertos del ambient, la crudeza y sonidos metálicos de la electrónica, y por supuesto, el groove y la simplicidad del house. En cada proyecto en el que trabajo intento exponer todos estos aspectos con mis ideas e intentar ir más allá. Pero por supuesto, todas estas son preferencias, no reglas. No me gusta encasillarme y ser etiquetado como un «productor de House». También me encanta la síntesis FM y los sintetizadores digitales. Hoy en día, lo más difícil es encontrar un flujo de trabajo que realmente me estimule todos los días, sin empujarte en direcciones opuestas. Como hacen los DAWs. Los primeros artistas electrónicos estaban limitados por sus equipos y lo estos ofrecían. Ahora que tenemos todos los sonidos posibles, se necesita el doble de esfuerzo para encontrar el camino a través de las infinitas posibilidades, siendo de alguna manera un reto interesante. No tengo ni idea de por qué algunas personas están liderando una cruzada contra lo analógico y se arruinan a sí mismas o a sus padres para crear sonidos que suenan como una lavadora, convencidos de que es el «sonido real». Disfruta de tu tiempo y sigue tus gustos". En este podcast puedes escuchar una impresionante selección de sonidos de la vieja escuela mezclados con un estilo exquisito.
