When Pool, RnB, and Chemistry Collide
They say love finds you when you’re minding your business… and in my case, it was exactly that. Hands on a cue stick, old skool jams in the background, and not a single thought about romance. Just me, the table, and the next win.Apparently, while I was deep in my element—focused, firm, a little bossy, and completely unbothered—someone was watching me. I didn’t notice him at all. Not even once. But he noticed me.
He told me later that he’d been observing how calm I was under pressure, how confidently I played, and how I moved like I owned the room. And the funniest part? He was right there… this very striking gentleman watching me win games like it was nothing.
Eventually, he leaned back and said hello. Between the loud music and the energy of the night, we somehow managed to talk. I ended up moving closer to where he was seated, drinks were flowing, we played even more pool, danced, laughed, and vibed in a way that felt easy—like we’d known each other before.
Before the night was over, we exchanged numbers and agreed to meet properly on Sunday afternoon.
That Sunday changed everything. We got into deep, beautiful conversations—the kind that make you look at someone a little longer. I loved that. I loved how open he was, how thoughtful, how attentive.
Now, four months in, he has consistently been kind, respectful, loving, and incredibly thoughtful. He takes care of me in ways that feel genuine. He always has my back. And honestly? It feels really, really good.Sometimes love doesn’t tap you on the shoulder—it watches you quietly, waits for the right moment, and then walks right up to say hello. What matters is how it grows: softly, steadily, and with intention.
Here’s to unexpected beginnings and the beautiful surprises they bring.
Have you ever been so focused on your own world that love quietly slipped in?
