“My goal is to inspire my fans to find happiness in themselves earlier on, so they don’t have such a tough time growing up. The world is a hard, difficult place right now. But it can feel a little bit easier if you believe in yourself.”

I just want to make art that connects with people and moves them on an emotional level. Any time I can put out music and place a story behind it and have people watch it and go, 'Wow, I was affected by that,' to me, feels like I've done my job.

I've always wanted my lyrics to say something meaningful and, you know, you always want to tell a message with your art. So yes, as I continue to write music, I will write about things that are real and things that I feel aren't written about a lot.

[On Girls Like Girls] Females never really sing about stealing other guys' girls. It's a self-confident girl anthem, so that's kind of where it stems from.

I’ve always been a songwriter ever since I was young so just picking up new instruments was kind of my cup of tea. I started playing drums when I was five, and that was my first main passion. Rhythm was my main passion as far as music was concerned.
