i'm working on creating my own game too, are there any tips and tricks or advice you'd give to people who are JUST getting into game making? ;w;
Sorry, Late reply! I’ll admit I’m still learning about game development. I have been trying to make games for a long time though. My only simple advice right now is to start small. Don’t jump into anything too big or ambitious, else you’ll become too overwhelmed and have abandoned projects everywhere.
If you wanna start big, that’s fine too, but little experience with writing and creating gameplay/art can be difficult. Which is why a lot of new developers seem to drop projects that promise a lot.
I started out with RPG Maker 2003/xp/vx ace. Its a baby step into making rpgs (if thats what you’re focusing on.)
If you don’t know too much about coding but want something a little less limited than rpgmaker, you can use Game Maker studio (which you have to buy the full version) but theres a free version too! it has very simple language that can be easy to learn. It’s a little bit more flexible. You can make just about any type of game on it rather than rpg.
If anyone of my followers who is into making games wanna add onto this go ahead.
