**SPOILERS** 

Okay... I’m just sitting here thinking about The Ballad of Never After again... and rereading the quotes I highlighted... again. I came across this quote: 

“A tear slid down her cheek as she tried to imagine Jacks as the Archer, fighting not to hurt the girl he loved and failing. No wonder he was so damaged and cruel. No wonder he’d perfected the art of not caring. ‘Sorry to break your fairytale, Little Fox, but ballads don’t end happily, and neither do the two of us.’”

I thought this was interesting because I don’t remember homegirl and homeboy talking about ever being an item. Neither of them in clear words confessed their love to one another and yet.. they talk about being an item. It’s not like they had this huge discussion about being a couple. This is after the Hollow. I just think it’s INTERESTING that both Jacks and Eva seem to think of one another as a “thing”, but that they can’t be together in the end. It’s like USUALLY in this case it seems like a couple TRIES to be together, but then they see that it won’t work out. Eva and Jacks were never “together” if you know what I mean. Yet... we know... they lowkey are. You know what I mean? Why does Jacks always gotta specify IF THERE ACTUALLY WAS NOTHING BETWEEN THEM?

OK. SO. This may have already been said before, but I’ve been thinking on this since I finished the book. Those dreams Evangeline had were sus. I believed at first that Lala and the Handsome Stranger were looking out for Evangeline. They told her to watch out for Jacks and he was lowkey holding her hostage there in the hollow. I immediately believed them because throughout both books EVERYONE and I mean everyone (besides Evangeline bc HELLO even though she has also said this) has told Evangeline to not trust Jacks or whatever.
