Hi, well strictly speaking it’s not perfumery since I use oils instead of alcohol but it follows the same principals. I’m no expert but if you’re interested in giving it a go I’d recommend starting with oils (sweet almond, jojoba etc) since it’s just a case of blending the base oils with the essential oils. 

I will warn you though it can be an expensive hobby and there’ll be lots of times where things don’t quite turn out how you want them to, but if you like the whole idea of experimenting to create different blends then definitely give it a shot.

Oh and if you do decide to give it a go try to familiarize yourself with the individual essential oils before you start mixing them, it’s something I really wish I had done from the start.
