nomad-anomaly system log entry
-i hope your new shell suits you. it suits me. it's home, or close enough, and much less cramped than that refurbished sentinel ship. a bunk. a cockpit that doesn't leave scratch marks on my arms and legs. even greenery. and the hatch, it can open in flight- in vacuum.
-do you know how it feels? watching the stars smear. not from behind half a dozen layers of protection, either. just... there.
-and... the feeling of being tugged into the captivity of a world's gravity. it's sublime. giving in to a flow utterly beyond my grasp. you feel it every entry, so of course you get it.
-and i can feel the clouds slipping through my fingers. that moment of wetness before it's scoured by the air beneath. i'm glad we invested in this... corvette, or whatever it's called. really glad.
-you don't mind that i'm calling it the loup-garou, right? just calling it the ashlight again didn't feel right. i don't know where that name comes from- maybe... maybe it's vy'keen, or something.
-well, it feels right. i hope you like it, too.
-i know you keep worrying about the fire hazards in the bunk area. sorry. i need them, just to... keep calm.
-i have no softness so it comes from cloth. has to. it- it's like i'm filling a void that's never been full.
-no warmth of my own, so i huddle in cloaks. i wonder what it's like, having blood and flesh and organs. nostalgic? maybe?
-i hope you can see the things i see. i connected my optic lens to your processing- maybe we can share my wanderings. maybe you're- maybe you're not even looking.
-i'm getting sidetracked. i've noticed something lately. every time i sleep. it doesn't feel like i'm sleeping. it feels like i'm being pulled into some other kind of wakefulness. pulled beyond the reach of the atlas- it's not real. i know. it's just... weird cognition feedback, i know.
-something hurts in memories i don't have.
-i'm used to these strangenesses by now. maybe it's because of the... possibility rooted in my body. that gentle red reminder of a great and terrible fear. of the wonders we walk because of that fear, that desperation.
-sometimes i wish i could reach out of all the boundaries and just... just for a moment, let those few minutes tick away.
-let it end. see what happens. if it's just an inevitable loss of power or something more.
-that's morbid. forget i said that.
