I’m kinda mad that they’ll probably show characters fading away in the visual effects clip.

Me: We (POC) have distinguished awards and had then for years, but that will never get us to be equally represented and "mainstream." If we don't align ourselves in the same competition as the rest of the population, we will never move forward as a community in media or any other industry. For the Oscars, or any other award shows, we need more people in The Academy's voting seats and that can happen through more minority actors (or filmmakers) being more active in getting those seats the being involved in the politics (as much as that sucks) to advocate for more POC to be recognized.
