And indeed, Orlok cannot love while trapped in his current prison of flesh; yet he is literally a *strigoi*—a creature specifically designed to go and haunt the former lover embodied by Ellen. Just stop believing that love is supposed to be healthy. Especially in fucking fothic horror work. Nosferatu is a gothic horror movie with a gothic romance at its heart, notably inspired by *Wuthering Heights*. Who do you think the gothic romance is between? Ellen & Thomas?! Instead of Ellen & Orlok?! For God's sake, shut your mouths when you know nothing about the genre the film represents or all its inspirations. You look like morons.

The story begins with her assassin explaining that he killed Elisabeth because she wanted to die, having fallen in love with Death.

Essentially, when she was young, Elisabeth had an accident, but Death himself caught up with her, sparing her life because he falls in love with her.

However (after she falls in love with him in return at first sight), she begged him to take her with him because in his arms she felt safer than ever, free, and understood like with no one else. Death refused.

Time passed, and she ended up married, as we all know, to Franz and she no longer wanted to die.

However, Death returned, like a jealous lover, determined to take Elisabeth, who refused him.

He also telling her in passing that no matter how many dances she has, it is with him that she will have her last one (since he is death).

He would then stalk her throughout her life, trying to convince her to die whenever a problem arose in her life. And in the end, of course, they are united in death.

A must-see if you like relationships like Darklina, Saurondriel, Erikstine, Ellen & Orlok, Dracmina, Luc & Addie, Elizabeth & the Creature, Sarah & Jareth, etc.

First, people denied the romance between Orlock and Ellen, claimed by Eggers himself.

And now people deny the romance between Elizabeth and the Creature, claimed by Del Toro himself.

According to Guillermo del Toro, this scene of encounter between Elizabeth & the Creature is a single soul in separate bodies that finally meet and complete each other.

And the moment when the Creature removes Elizabeth's glove is both romantic and erotic... Both at once. And that, apparently is the purest definition of love, according to Jacob Elordi in the same interview when Del Toro talk about the meet of Elizabeth and the Creature.

No... Not someone who just spouted the nonsense that Ellen sacrificed herself out of love for her ultra-toxic and misogynistic husband who didn't understand her and a society that literally mistreated her and is criticized throughout the film... Not only that, but who also dares to compare that to the case of Elizabeth who dies because she tried to protect the Creature ?!

Elizabeth & the Creature / Adam, if there is a comparison, is comparable to Ellen & Orlok. Not Ellen & Thomas. Literally for this reason :
