The Clackamas River.
We struggled with not going somewhere this Memorial Day weekend. Three whole days to get out of town, chase the sun and drier weather and do something that would make us exhausted come the work week.
But we stayed home. And today our yard is thanking us for that decision.
On Sunday evening we took a quick fly fishing dip across town in the Clackamas to practice spey casting. We had a beautiful two hours on the river (but not a single bite). The big win of the day was just staying warm on a cool evening, in the cold water. Hint: I had two hand warmers in my bra. #whateverittakes
All in all, a good reminder we don't always have to leave town to have an adventure.
