Goosethistle was born very sick and prematurely, and both he and Orchidseed were very ill following his birth. It was thanks to Asphodelhawk and the rest of the first litter that they were able to pull through. Asphodelhawk's care allowed her to receive her full name as a medicine cat (the rest of her siblings already had theirs, as medicine cats train longer).
Goose was fathered by Cricketclaw.
.
.
~28 moons later~
Orchidseed had her third litter:
Forestfire, Raccoonpool
This litter was fathered by Raccoonstar and Forestshimmer.
This litter was fathered by Applefoot, Rabbitsky, and Petalsand
.
.
~1 moon later~
Roughly a moon after her kits were born, her older kits found Saltkit/stone and Woodkit/light and brought them to her. They were adopted and raised with the biological litter.
.
.
~4 moons later~
Goldenkit/soul was found and adopted by the group, reuniting with his biological siblings, Woodkit and Saltkit.
Golden, Wood, and Salt's biological parents are Morningsky and Geckospots
.
.
~41 moons later~
Orchidseed had her fifth litter:
Berryeye, Cherrycry, Applefly, Peachpaw
This litter is fathered by Danglingmoss and Sleekstar

βUhm, Periwinkle? Can I talk to you?β Goldenpaw couldnβt meet her brotherβs eyes, shuffling her paws uncomfortably.Β
She knew she shouldnβt be doing this, shouldnβt be telling another soul about that vile, awful part of her, shouldnβt even be speaking of it. But it was eating her alive, and she was sure if she didnβt tell someone soon, it would consume her completely.
Periwinklesun had always been good to her. Kind, sweet. She was sure that when he struck her, he would hold back.
Cormorantsplash paused grooming his littermate, clearly seeing the same thing Periwinklesun saw: intense distress. Periwinklesun stood up and followed her in a heartbeat.
When they were out of earshot of everyone else, they settled down on the grass. Goldenpaw picked at it with her paws, tearing at the ground. Periwinklesun reached out a paw to stop her, and when she finally met his face, his eyes were kind. βHey, whatβs going on?β he asked gently. Always gentle. Would he still be gentle after she told him? Would he turn on her like Morningsky did? Would all of them? Would she be alone again? In the cold, in the dark, shivering and sobbing andβ
βHey, hey, calm down.β Periwinklesun pulled her into his side, paw wrapped around her back in an embrace. βI got you. Tell me whatβs going on.β
When Goldenpaw was able to calm her breathing, she began. βIβ¦I think Iβ¦I-IknowitβswrongandbadandIshouldnβtevenbesayingthisbutIjustneedtosayitbecauseIthinkβ¦I..Iβ¦β Goldenpaw shut her eyes tightly, swallowed, and confessed. βI donβt feel like a she-cat.βΒ
It barely came out in a hushed whisper. Goldenpaw flattened her ears and flinched, prepared for retaliation, for another strike or lecture. But what met her was laughter.
Mocking laughter!
βI-I know I shouldnβt!β She began desperately. βI know itβs badββ
βWhat?β Periwinklesunβs eyes widened. βNo! No no no no no no! I wasnβt laughing at that, itβs justβwellβI thought you knew I wasnβt always called a tom.β
Goldenpaw blinked, sniffling. βWhat?βΒ
Periwinklesun took a step toward her, but stopped when Goldenpaw flinched again. Seeing her discomfort, he settled onto his belly with his paws tucked neatly under his chest. βWhen I was born, cats called me a she-cat. It feltβ¦like nothing at first, I was too young to really differentiate it from being called anything else. But as I got older, it feltβ¦less correct, if that makes sense. I started to feel uncomfortable and wrong. I was a little younger than you when I told my family I wanted to be called a tom.β
βAnd theyβ¦butβ¦β Goldenpaw was lost. This didnβt make any sense. Everyone was just okay with it? But it was wrong, wasnβt it? It was badβ¦thatβs what Morningsky said. βBut whereβs your scar?β
Periwinklesun tilted his head. βWhat scar?β
βThe one your mama gave you when you told her? Is it on your belly? Is that why I never see it?β
Something in Periwinklesunβs expression shifted. Goldenpawβs heart dropped. It was the same quiet rage Morningsky had a moment before she tore at Goldenpawβs nose. But Periwinklesun didnβt snap, didnβt lash. Instead, he took a long, deep breath and spoke firmly. βNothing is wrong with you, Goldenpaw. There is nothing wrong with being who you are. If being who you are means being a tom, then shout it from the mountains! We will shout with you, all of us. Youβre our brother, and we love you no matter what. And we will never, ever strike you.β
Goldenpaw shook. Not from fear or distress or anxiety, butβ¦this was all soβ¦heβ¦he really wasnβt bad. Or wrong. He wasβ¦he was a tom. He was a tom!
βCan I really be your brother?β his voice was small.
Periwinklesun smiled. βYou always were, I just didnβt know it until now.β
Tears welled in Goldenpawβs eyes. He tried to smile back, but wasnβt sure if he pulled it off.Β
Bit by bit Periwinklesun shuffled closer, until they could embrace again. Goldenpaw didnβt flinch this time, melting into his brotherβs fur. Tears were flowing from his face now, as well as a bit of snot. He sobbed, waves crashing through his body. Periwinklesun held him through it all, laying there with him in silence.
β--
βDo you want to tell the rest of the family?" Periwinklesun asked when they were walking back to the main camp. "Iβll be beside you if you need me.β
Goldenpaw shook his head. He felt lighter, lighter than he had felt in moons, and he couldnβt stop smiling. But telling everyone? He wasnβt ready for thatβ¦not yet.
βOkay. Hey, did you know Iβm not the only one who goes by something different than what I was first called?
βYouβre not?β
βHavenβt you ever wondered why Raccoonpool goes by βxemβ? Or why Forestfire goes by βtheyβ? And why Goosethistle has so many other names? And....
β--
A shadow fell over Asphodelhawk. She looked to see Periwinklesun standing in the entrance to her den. She opened her mouth to tell him to move. Then she noticed the burning rage in his eyes and closed it.
βWhat happened?β she asked.
Periwinklesunβs words came out in a snarl. βI know what happened to Goldenpawβs nose.β

--Started off as a normal post but then story inspo got me
--He went to Periwinkle because he's one of the kindest siblings.
--Goldenpaw will still need time before being fully comfortable with his identity, but he gets there!
--"When he struck her" yes, Golden fully expected to be struck by whoever he told, he thought it was normal and the correct response.
--After Morningsky's treatment, Goldenpaw didn't tell anyone for a while, hence why he's an apprentice here.

Pondkit is completely deaf. The moment the family knew, Cormorant searched for other cats that are deaf/know some sign so that he could learn it and help his little bro. He became Pondkit's mentor later on
Blazekit later becomes Blazefox, and Clearkit becomes Clearsong!
(changed the names from Breeze and Dust because these felt they fit the designs more)
I like Forest and Raccoon's dynamic so far as "scary one and innocent one" but I also want to add to it, so here's some more:
(R = blue, F = orange)
(R = top, F = bottom)
(F = fire, R = calm)
Anyways I like to think Raccoon isn't so much the ball of sunshine so much as he's just innocent. I like to think he's more the chill one that can quickly see the solution to a problem and tells everyone else to calm down. He can get frustrated though, especially when Forest or Asphodel repeatedly cause trouble. Just because he feels more or less calm doesn't mean he won't yell at someone for doing something stupid.
