There seems to be a lone merman in the oceans, struggling to keep his head above water level but failing quite terribly. He doesn't seem to know how to swim either. Not to mention the amount of blood around him that seemed to come from his waist. ((@bd-turtlepolpol, hi henlo, don't gotta draw for this if you dont wanna since I'm going text heavy!!))
Drawn over by the irregular churning of water, the source of the disturbance was now visible⌠and pungent. The unmistakable scent of blood mingled in the waves and grew more potent as he neared the site. But this creature was not dead. It was alive. It was still struggling to stay afloat. Was this a result of an attack? Illness? Sparing not a second longer to infer on the matter, Jotaroâs fins crashed against the water and pushed forward toward the struggling mass. He drew the merman into his arms, supporting his weight, and holding his head above the surface. âHey! What happened? Can you talk?â@bd-turtlepolpol
((Because my computer is dead, I did some sketches and marker art yesterday instead. Feat. @regularlyscheduledjolynemom and @dailyyoungmrskujo ))
âThere were no good old days. Not for us.â Before Jotaro guarded the cove, he and the rest of his kind were a fearsome warrior race known for their ruthless and tactical pack-hunting. Originally serving under the Lionfish King during his conquest of the seas, but after his disappearance, they took up mercenary work, and many wound up fighting for the humans, who betrayed them, and their treatment at the hands of man was severe. For man or mer, either way, the Orcafolk were born from a bloodsoaked past, and Jotaro is trying to atone for it.
Jotaro! You say youâre gonna help protect that big ocean beast, but how? From what we know, that damn thing is colossal, and youâre itty bitty!
In my experience, these are what have made the greatest difference of allâŚ

(Mer-event) hmmmmm... I expected orcas to be... bigger. Or are you just an extra small variant of your kind?
What is it now, Shintora?@weekly-maturedshinobu
((I had to participate in this event. How could I not? Any opportunity to bring back this boy.)) In a quiet cove nestled into the high, rocky cliffs of an uncharted island, a haven for all kinds of marine life thrives. Fish, mammals, flora, and a diverse colony of merfolk seeking the refuge the cove has to offer. Protecting this untouched oceanic eden is Jotaro, a lone merman, sworn to look after any deserving creature seeking refuge in the cove, especially ones threatened by overzealous humans taking more than they need. Jotaro is steadfast in his mission, but also very gentle with those under his care. He was once one of many of his kind. The orcafolk being a predatory warrior race, he swam in a large pod that hired themselves out as reputable mercenaries. They were infamous for their pack-hunting tactics, and near impenetrable defense, but as time went on, the humans he hunted for became increasingly distrustful of them, and called an all-out bounty on his kind, blaming them for shipwrecks and looting among human fleets. Several of his pod were captured, enslaved, and even slaughtered by mankindâs desire to harness the seas. The surviving orcafolk split from their pod and sought refuge where they could find it, and for Jotaro, it was the cove. He now shows tenderness to those suffering as he did, and unrivaled wrath to those that cause it. #jojomerevent
