After first looking around the entire rooming block and then trying to find clues about his droid’s location on the holo channel - a complete and utter waste of time and effort, he might add - Jackson has no other options left but to just roam about the entirety of the ship to try and find H1-A14. Now the entirety of the ship is a huge amount of space to cross and he only has two legs, so this is like a suicide mission, really.

A part of him just wants to stay where he is and wait for the droid to return to him, but he knows it could take a very long time to do so. He doesn’t even know what exactly it was that made the droid go off unexpectedly like that, so for all he knows it might even be trying to find a way to roll itself straight out of the ship. And considering they’re leaving like really soon, he will have to make sure that that doesn’t happen.

He should’ve put a tracker into his droid - he thinks belatedly. He should have also tested it with his room door closed. These are all superfluous thoughts right now, as it is too late to change anything about those events anyway. What he needs to do right this very moment, is find his droid. Before it gets lost - or worse, damaged.

ji-ae didn’t even know how the rat got away from his cage! she took him out of the cage for one minute to inspect him, give him a new injection of the new serum she was developing and then she put the darn rat back on the cage which she locked up properly (... did she?) and fell asleep. the next thing she knew, her papers were on the floor, the rat was nowhere to be found inside the cage and the lab door wide open. the rat shouldn’t even be able to run that fast!!! he was injured, a gash on one of his--

wait a minute, if the rat could run this fast then perhaps she succeeded? she was able to regrow the rat’s cells in the shortest amount of time possi--

“oof!!” ji-ae fell down as she bumped into someone. she probably shouldn’t be so deep in her thoughts as she’s running after a rat that could possible help injured soldiers and people but she was too busy counting her eggs in her mind to pay attention properly. she looked up to the person she bumped into and instead of apologizing she says: “have you seen a rat running around here?”

he didn’t care much about what the others had planned, because he surely did not plan to get involved in much else after the whole mess with hyunsoo (figuratively, and thankfully not literally). the boy owed him two credits for the effort, and something to ease an oncoming migraine, at the very least. (seol, on the other hand, was a much more well-behaved passenger.) nevertheless, the idea was to pick up the rascals, and place them back in base where they belonged, and go on with his day doing nothing but tinkering with his speeder, and maybe steal something from one of the engineers – no – temporarily borrow was the more acceptable term for it.

now kirin was just peeved. more than that: he was absolutely annoyed that his day, meant to comprise of keeping mostly to himself and, maybe, if duty called, attending training, was now compromised. utterly changed, really, and nothing ticked him off more than being disrupted.

at the mere thought of it, the rhythm of his hand on the knife he’d been playing with was disrupted, sending the knife out of his hand and skittering across the floor. (un)fortunately, no one was hurt. kirin, however, being adamant in being as much of an asshole as fate seemed to be that day, did not want to get off his perfectly comfortable position. besides, leaning against a wall made him look slightly more composed.
