breath comes short, STORM rages in his lungs, and floodgates spill from his lips; itâs SUFFOCATING, the rage that embeds itself and courses through his veins; he knows you mean well, dear oracle, but the heart that beats in that chest breaks at your words so disgracefully.Â
fingers wind tight into balls, knuckles WHITE, limbs shaken with strain, itâs all he can do to keep CAGED, lest she feel the same wrath he gifted to verstael.  â what the hell would you know âŚÂ â spoken through hiss in teeth, SHAKING breath as he wills himself calm, but it comes far too late. a miracle, she says, and like wild dog, he SNARLS, teeth bared, and he feels the sting in his eyes. the dam is bursting, and he canât stop it.Â
â a miracle,  â he repeats, SCOFF follows, before he swallows.  â you think iâm a miracle ? being CREATED in a laboratory, used for EXPERIMENTS, finding out my whole goddamn life is a LIE â you call that a MIRACLE ?!  â pitch raises, voice falters, his cheeks stain with salt and ANGER.  â what would you know about any of this ?! you, who was BORN, who had people who loved you and adored you â what could you POSSIBLY know about what this is like ?!  â somewhere in he back of his head, something tells him to stop, to let it go, until eyes set upon her, and he feels the wave of NAUSEA and MISERY wash across heated cheeks.
ethereal in how she kneels, fingers translucent as the wrap âround burning wrist, and in her eyes he sees a gentle urge, a plea to understand, and his face FLUSHES with shame. youâd know miracles better than anyone, wouldnât you ?
â yesterday, i woke up as prompto argentum,  â his voice comes quiet now, and he canât face her, shaking with ADRENALINE as it runs its course through him.  â i was just a normal guy, just some dude who was fighting to save the world. and today âŚÂ  â a pause, and he lets tears flow free down his cheeks, lips pressed thin as he fights to catch his breath.
â today, i woke up a monster. and you call that a miracle.  â
