The Outsiders fandom genuinely needs to look deeper into its characters as a whole. I understand the fandom is mostly anywhere from 13-15 years old at its youngest, however, you don't need to be a seasoned fandomist to have discernment. The 1983 movie actors have genuinely and still are warping people's ability to see the characters for their nuance, and not just their faces. Not to say that they're bad actors, but people look at appearances before anything else, and that is sad. Furthermore, people need to understand that The Outsiders is not a hero/villain story!!! TO is a fictional, but yet messy, raw, and honest recount of class divides and shared struggle from the perspective of a 14 year old protagonist on the "poor" side!!!!!!
