Ooh, that’s a good question…I always picture Yang taking Blake’s. Though I guess it’s less of a “who changes their last name” and more of a “who keeps their last name” at least for me. 

Blake’s family is more prominent (albeit in the faunus community as opposed to among humans), so it feels right to me for her to keep that name, like how Mama Schnee kept hers and Jacques adopted it. Yang doesn’t have that with her family. Yes they’re hunters but they aren’t leaders and public figures like Blake’s parents. 

Blake’s also the one with the more public-oriented goal if that makes any sense. She wants to fight for equality for the faunus which will put her more in the world spotlight than Yang, whose main goal is protecting the people she cares about. Blake will likely become a prominent figure in her own right and thus less likely to change her name, similar to how women in academia often won’t take their spouse’s name if they’ve already published articles.
