thinking about the popular hc of jons hair getting longer over the seasons as he like. spirals outta control or whatever and like weve talked about that right? im not here to talk about how we feel about that im here to discuss one of many clearly superior alternatives which is jon growing his hair and beard out as a symbol of his personal development bc while in many ways his life was slowly falling apart and going off the rails, in a few other ways he was genuinely growing as a person? including that he gradually got over (partially out of necessity but growth is growth) his need to be seen as proper and stuffy and professional and academic. bc like. firstable i can personally attest that going insane as your life shatters around you kinda precludes projecting that kind of image. and secondable hes growing! hes learning things about himself and i do think that making the decision to let your body exist in a more comfortable state that goes against what youve been doing as maintenance bc Society said you should is a sign of serious growth as a person! and since i know how much of the fandom sees jon as trans and/or nonwhite, theres a lot of factors at play re: societal expectations and hair choices. men of color with long hair and/or facial hair are often demonized and discriminated against. trans men may feel a pressure to keep their hair short bc its more Masculine. and men having long hair is just generally seen as less professional and proper. so what im saying is jon having a little tom succession hairdo in season one that he grows out over time with care and pride.
we dont talk enough about our blorbos having their own blorbos. i read a cringe teen wolf fic in like 2013 where they had this whole heated argument about amy and rory and i use the word cringe with the utmost love and respect and i think we should all do this all the time forever. jon has a very un-self-aware antipathy toward spock and a very un-self-aware sympathy toward julian bashir. martin has a very self-aware crush on spock and a very self-aware antipathy toward julian bashir. tim wrote fanfic about deanna troi and jadzia dax. also hes never seen tos. which both jon and martin are mad at him for. they want him to kin james kirk so bad and he knows he would and thats why he refuses to watch it. tim is a sw prequels apologist bc he likes fun, jon is a sw ot purist bc he hates fun. tim and martin like to watch supernatural together. tim and sasha like to watch the x-files together. you know?? play in this space with me please

jons notes at the end of 150 he is so gay.... "yeah this confirms a theory that ive ALWAYS HELD - no melanie i did NOT 'just decide that i hate the lonely because one of them is courting martin' im an ACADEMIC and i TRULY BELIEVE - that the lonely is one of the most insidious entities :// it loves to seduce people who would otherwise NEVER choose to leave ME - i mean something applicable to this statement, instead of what i just said about martin - nobody, i mean."
on this womens day lets not forget the ultimate feminist
