Just saw the trailer for the US remake of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.
Decided that I am indeed not going to be watching it.
Everytime ~lisbeth turned around and I saw that it wasn't Noomi completely jarred me. And I want Michael as Mikael, not Daniel Craig. And I have no idea who the fuck the girl playing Harriet is, but after watching Oplev's film and having Harriet's face burned into my mind...I gotta say I was a little pissed when it wasn't the original Harriet. Maybe I'm just being nit-picky, but I really don't care. Fincher may be a great director, but I'd love for the Swedish films to get some more recognition, instead of the english speaking world ~frothing over the US adaption.
What pulled me to the Swedish films what this single image of Noomi.
It automatically pulled me into the story. Seeing all of these images of Rooney Mara are doing zilch for me. I don't feel compelled to watch it, and it seems like the US film is missing that certain 'feel'.
Also, "The feel bad movie of Christmas" is possibly the worst tagline I've ever heard. Lame.
Fuck this, I'm sticking with the original films. rant over
