Normally, Lovi can be described as being very shy and quiet, preferring to watch and listen rather than speak. However, she is also fiercely protective of those that are dear to her, not caring what she has to do in order to keep them safe. Due to her ability to read and manipulate emotions, she can be an overly emotional person at times, either by her own emotions or by those around her. Lovi does attempt and make sure to use her powers for good, not usually one to use bad emotions on someone. Though normally a very calm and collected person, she can lose her temper and isn’t afraid to use her skills in hand to hand combat if the need arises. She does have an issue with being possessive and jealous when it comes to the people that she cares about, in particular Achilles and Nari, often keeping an eye on them to make sure they are safe and well taken care of. Once someone has earned Lovi’s trust, she gives that trust completely.
PAST:
Lovi was born and raised in Seoul, Korea as the only child of Kim Joon Yo, a Tae Kwon Do instructor and warlock, and Gi Yoona Yo, a homemaker and witch. Growing up in Korea wasn't easy for Lovi, many men in the country felt that a woman's place was in the home while she felt the need for independence. She was trained from a young age in Tae Kwon Do by her father because he felt that she would need it to be able to defend herself when she went out on her own. Her mother taught her everything she knew about magic and how to tap into her gifts, something that came naturally for her.
Lovi was a late bloomer when it came to finding her specialized power, a freshman in college at Nwha Woman's University. She was studying with a friend and felt overwhelmed by emotions that weren't hers. She wasn't sure what was going on at first until a visit home with her mother confirmed her suspicion that she was an empath. Lovi trained more with her mother while working toward her degree in prenatal care and by the time she graduated, Lovi had full control of her gift which came in handy when she got a job at Cha General Hospital in the Gagnam section of Seoul.
Shortly after her 28th birthday, Lovi met a man by the name of Achilles Mauvais, a warlock traveling in Korea. She'd like to say she didn't fall for him the day she met him but that would be a lie. Instead of just jumping into things though, she convinced Achilles to stay in Seoul for a while to get to know each other after after a few months of courting they became an official couple, and a few months after that they were married. Both Achilles and Lovi grew restless of Seoul, however, and with the permission of her parents they left Korea to travel the world together.
In January 2000, Lovi found out she was pregnant with their daughter, who they named Nari, and the need to find somewhere to settle down and plant some roots was strong. After getting the call from Luke, Achilles’s cousin, about their safe haven in California, the couple decided to make their way over to settle down. Like Achilles, Lovi was shocked by how peaceful the town full of supernaturals was and for an empath that was paradise. Once Nari was born, the couple decided to make Haven their permanent home. Lovi currently works as the OBGYN at Haven a General Hospital along with working as a midwife for those that don’t want to give birth in the hospital. Her powers also help her to be able to tell what a child’s power is going to be while in the womb, something that allows the parents some foresight into what their child is going to be capable of.
