I Was An Extrovert And Now I’m An Introvert
looking back, i have acted extroverted starting in high school, *all* work and career, and many social events. which RUINED me, because i now know that i identify introvert. i mean, full on leading an extroverted life, not just the parts even introverts have to do to survive.
this shifting in and out of the two, or riding the spectrum (to borrow a term), had the same effect on me as suppressing orientation. i didn’t know at the time about introversion outside of ‘silly’ quizzes that i didn’t take seriously, so i kept pushing myself out there. it did some good career-wise. it also made me later resent many work relationships, because at the end of the day, we can’t relate that way.
