Joowon tried to stay out the affairs of others..........
that’s a lie.
He’s both nosy and unnecessarily thorough in his observations. Unnecessary as in he’ll sweep a little too close to a couple having an argument hoping the don’t notice. They usually don’t. If they do he’s got a few excuses up his sleeve to make things seem less suspicious, more necessary than unnecessary. Like - your order’s ready, or underneath your table is sticky I have to mop soon, or a couple died of heartbreak in that seat I’m going to need you two to move. Simple things that don’t always work.
He interferes because he figures he needs as much experience with situations to be good at what he does. He doesn’t do anything yet but it’s a good start! It’s usually casual interference, the kind that people can’t tell. Slips into their day unsuspecting and turns it around. The little things.
Most of the time when he’s meddling it involves couples because for some reason couples always come to shops with the most problems. They bring a hurricane through the door and don’t realize everyone else can notice. No one ends up swept up but for some reason Joowon likes to step into the storm. It’s going to get him in trouble one day. Today however, he doesn’t think he minds if it does. He pushes consequences to the far corner of his brain. There’s no hurricane, in fact it’s all sunny smiles and sweet gestures when they walk in.
He’s seen the male before, several times this month, with several different girls. Brownie points or not he’s sure it’s disrespectful to go through women like a plow truck. Joowon, like the good soul he is prepares their drinks like any other day, smiling gleefully at the woman and carefully making the tea so graciously asked of him.
He really tries to stay out of everyone’s up’s and down’s but honestly he can’t help being the cause of it.
“Enjoy.” His smile is suspicion free. Hands handing out her macchiato, extra vanilla and his tea, extra espresso. He leans against the counter and waits for the bomb.
