The Knick 2x04
i have to pause the knick every other minute because some shots are so gorgeous. this one in particular hit me hard, bc opal’s intro is so out of left field and she’s antagonistic but it’s not her fault algie didn’t mention her. then she’s at the robertson’s dinner and she reminds algie and the audience how fucked up it is for the robertsons to constantly put him in the position of being grateful and acknowledging their progressiveness when things aren’t really progressive at all. in this moment, they both look away and i stopped sympathizing with algie and started to get angry with opal. i love how they’re positioned in this moment, how algie forces himself to look away and the focus on opal with her head held high. stay forever please.
