Right, so outside of Spaz's own design, these are the two that I took heavy inspiration from:

So! Legiana and Velkhana, two monsters that are also my favorite of the ice-element. Legiana's contributions are kinda obvious: the wings and fins on the tail, and the patterning on Leon's back.

Velkhana's gives more subtle attributes: mainly its control over the shape of ice and its spear-like tail.

Other contributions can only be explained in rambling, so here we go:

Thinking about changing when Leon first Devil Triggers, mainly so there's more time to explore his abilities and for some tomfuckery. In that case… for now I'm tentatively going to place the first DT… Idk after Mendez? If y'all can think of a better point then please do share.

Also, I looked up Dante and Vergil's DT forms and it turns out: they do have clothes on! So Leon actually gets to keep some of his dignity lol!

The devil that tried (and failed) to possess Leon is old, and is likely the last of its kind (it was more crafty/stubborn, perhaps)

The form the parasite takes can actually vary depending on the host; when possession goes as planned, the host's consumed soul has an effect on the form their body is twisted into.

Element-wise the parasite is predisposed to lightning, any additional elements it uses are extrapolated from its host's soul.

How did Leon survive anyway? Surely he can't be the only stubborn soul the devil encountered, right? Ironically this is exactly the case, as normally the demon attached itself to weakened or desperate hosts. The fact it got injected into Leon was a complete fluke, a horrific bit of bad luck on the devil's end.

So, it tried to wait until Leon was in a (seemingly) hopeless situation before pulling its tricks. Unfortunately for it, Del Lago is frankly light work for Leon at this point. Thus, a battle of wills commenced.

I feel like Leon would be embarrassed if he ever found out he out-stubborned a fucking demon; mainly because it proves his friends right, he's too bull-headed for his own good.

He passes out after the Del Lago fight because of the influx of demonic power his victory granted him, and since he was a plan-old-human before this, his body needed time to catalog and adjust to the new power.

This also explains why he partially transforms: his body's still getting used to the demonic power, and throwing himself into a body horror meat grinder doesn't exactly help matters.

The first time he realizes something is horribly wrong, it's after taking a pretty nasty hit from a ganados' axe. After clearing the hostiles out he goes to check the wound, only to watch as it finishes knitting itself back together.

He asks Luis about it obviously (since they still think it's the Plaga), but to his shock the man explains that… no, an immature Plaga can't heal their host (my explanation for why Leon can't auto-heal after getting infected in-game), and considering he's not showing any advanced symptoms, it leads Luis to propose two theories (neither of which are good):

1. Leon's been infected by a strain of Plaga unknown to Luis

2. He's infected with something completely separate from the Plaga

Needless to say Leon is having a Very Bad Time™️ and it only gets more confusing once he actually does DT. Because things go from "oh maybe it's this…?" to "oh yeah that's absolutely not the Plaga, wtf is that?"

Leon can de-summon his wings at will (don't ask where they go, I just thought it'd be cool); with how large they are, they'd be quite cumbersome in close quarters (not to mention straight-up in the way if he used his super speed).

(Leon may or may not've freaked out when he first did this, accidentally, while learning how to fly ((why yes, I like putting him in Looney Toons-ass situations)))

Leon is extremely maneuverable in the air, capable of out-flying most mutated foes (something would have to be engineered for flight in order to have a chance against him).

Leon has control over ice and lightning, capable of flash-freezing areas in seconds before striking opponents down with searing bolts of electricity.

Leon's parasite is either related to, or actually is the devil Beelzebub, Lord of The Flies and a demon associated with gluttony and envy. The parasite is very powerful, but only when it's within a host. The devil's natural form without this is actually quite weak; it's not known why this is, only that in order to access its true power, the devil needs to possess someone.

The devil can replenish its energy by absorbing the life force of other beings, usually it's done at the moment of killing a victim. Leon can do this by extension, and it can be done in either human or devil form.

It's not exactly sucking the blood from a person, it's more like their vitality (like how moves like Absorb work in Pokemon). The closer a victim is to death, the better.

Leon can create constructs out of his ice, however the most complex things he makes in RE4 are bladed pieces of ice extending from his body. As he gets more experience with his powers though, he can create just about anything he can imagine (functioning guns and rockets, autonomous creatures that follow his whim, anything).

His lightning powers are a bit more… finicky at first. He doesn't like using them at first because of how deadly lightning is; one wrong move, and one of his charges gets fried.

The best he ends up doing in RE4 is (as pictured) augmenting his punches and kicks with electricity, not to say that it's bad. Leon's enhanced strength with lightning is a horrifying combo, but it's not the full extent of what he can do.

Super speed is another issue for him; he can't focus on his surroundings well at first, overwhelmed by the sheer speed he could go at. So he usually ends up crashing into something, thankfully the only thing injured in the process is his pride.

Ashley was terrified of Leon at first (they met while he was DT'ed, he hadn't figured out how to change back yet), thinking he was another monster. Her tune changes when she watches him kill several ganados, not letting a single one get anywhere close to her.

While in Devil Trigger Leon is about eight feet tall, his tail being at least four feet long. His wings are each 16 feet across (wings need to be double a creature's height/length in order to lift them), and are very durable. Leon uses them as improvised shields more than a few times, they're likely the only part of his "mutation" that he's glad for (aside from the built-in body armor).

This blog features three versions of Leon: RookieBug, Devil!Leon, and Leonzilla. They know and can interact with each other, they aren't in their own bubbles so to speak.
