The best movie is a matter of life and death. Quite hard to source I think (idk I always watch it when it's actually on TV). It's about a RAF pilot in WW2. There is absolutely no action, but there is a ridiculous french man.
Another good one is Hot Fuzz. It's so fucking British and brilliant. You may have already seen it idk. I would be a disgrace to my country if I didn't mention it. It's about a police officer and there is a swan.

Children of Men. This definitely feels up your street. A world where people are no longer fertile and can't have children. It's got Micheal Caine in it.
