In the light of that @road-sparrow post. I want to share with you my two dark-skinned characters (I hope you don’t mind me tagging you!) They’re both incredibly precious to me, and it makes me incredibly uncomfortable that people fetishize them or put them in a specific character box because of the colour of their skin.Â
So, please meet A’shilly Khuba and Thea Amariyo. Fuck your stereotypes about PoC, these women couldn’t possibly be more different.Â
A’shilly is a 31 year old former dancer from the Silver Mirage in Ul’dah. On the surface, she’s mean-tempered and hot-headed, preferring to fallback on her former fame. But, she spends a large amount of her time performing philanthropic acts via her employees and wants to improve the lives of the Pearl Lane residents.Â
Thea is a 22 year old botanist and herbalist living in Ul’dah. She was born into a wealthy Miqo’te family who aspired to Hyur nobility, so adopted a lot of their traditions. Thea felt restricted by her parents pushing her towards a good marriage, so left them to go and train as a botanist in Gridania. She’s a quiet, gentle girl who likes solitude and simplicity. She will often spend days wandering around the forests, her only company the plants and animals that surround her. She has a close connection to nature and finds spirituality in walking in the woodland.
Both are actively seeking RP. I’m hoping to follow up this post with more detailed profiles for them, but I just wanted to make a quick post to share my precious babies.Â
