Getting to know the Mun:
The Basics
β· Name: Saby β· Pronouns: She/Her
Three Facts
β· Along with RP, some of my other passions are art (I am not a professional artist, but I do enjoy drawing my characters and even other people's Muses in my spare time), writing (had a few past attempts at writing actual books, but time and lack of inspiration didn't led them to fruition, however I'd like to give it a try in the future and maybe publish something) and editing (although I don't do it as much now, in my early teens I was crazy after doing crazy edits and even put together a few AMVs I still have up on my defunct YT channel).
β· I am a university student doing my Masters degree in school counseling. I am nearly done with it tho, this being my final year and there's only one month remaining separating me from crossing that sweet-sweet finish line. After this is diving into the wild and crazy world of job hunting for me. π
β·I wear glasses, since I am near-sighted. Without my glasses I am like a blind bat so while I am not a huge fan of them, can't live without em. At least, most people I know tell me that they make me look intellectual, so that's a plus I guess.
Experience
β· How long? I've been roleplaying since I was 12 years old, so nearly 14 years of RP experience under my belt. I guess one could say I've been roleplaying even earlier than that since I used to be an active player of Club Penguin and I enjoyed enacting all sorts of story plots and life scenarios with my friends on there, but since I wasn't aware that was RP back then, I consider 12 to be the age where I took up this hobby actively. I was introduced to RP on a random gaming site for girls where they had a social media feature included in which you created a profile, could customize your avatar, write blogs and DM people, and that's where I started writing Naruto RP with a few friends. I remember that with one of them I had like 100 pages of RP accumulated over the span of 2 years, then in 2014 I moved to Wattpad, where I feel most Gen Z RP-ers' origin story comes from.
β· Platforms youβve used? Forums (I'll go with that for the gaming sites), Wattpad, Tumblr, Discord, DMs (for a while I wrote my 8 year long RP with my BFF over Whatsapp after Wattpad became shit), Google docs, I feel like I've tried em all. π
β· Best experience? I feel like most of my experiences in the RPC have been amazing experiences, cause I've met great and very talented people with amazing characters, experimented with a vast array of story plots and built spectacular stories I find myself returning to reread even years later and developed my writing skills. And I think any experience where me and the other person are having fun plotting and gossiping about our characters could fall into this category.
Muse Preferences
β· Female or Male muses? I am comfortable with both and I don't have a certain preference for one over the other. I feel like the gender of the Muse am writing plays a major role into the trajectory of a plot and the way a story develops because it can influence the character's way of thinking, points of view and the way they navigate and integrate past experiences. So I love exploring all kinds of new possibilities and how a story could play out.
β· Fluff, Angst, or Smut? All and any. The genre I'll go after is usually based off of my mood at the time, but I do enjoy writing all three.
β· Plotting or Memes? Both. Honestly I've had incredible threads that developed from both plotted out stories, one-liner memes or a random starter, so either instance can be the cathalist for an amazing jorney. Imagination is the limit, so I feel like when you feel the potential of a story and get that inkling in your bones, anything can do to motivate and inspire you, even a one-liner meme (cause the scenario and context that one line could be spoken it can be just about anything so the possibilities are endless!).
β· Long or Short replies? I do both, although with longer replies I can only do like one or two a day, depending on my energy level or my free time, and ofc on how long that reply is. I've done replies that could be a short one sentence reply (like in phone text messaging thread) or paragraphs long that could stretch across a full A4 Word page, so I don't have a specific reply length minimum or maximum standard size I abide to. Though, most often I mirror my RP partner's reply length.
β· Best time to write? Whenever I am in the mood, really.
β· Are you like your muse? Yes and no. While I must admit that I sometimes borrow from my own personal experiences and my set of values when writing my Muses (for example how Kukki and Misaki value righteousness and loyalty, or how Xuan has a strong sense of honesty and devotion in his relationships, or how some of them have had a past of bullying or being harassed), I don't only limit myself to my own preferences and personality. My Muses aren't self inserts and frankly I prefer it that way, because otherwise I feel like it would limit my writing if I never went out of my comfort zone. I like to think of the characters I write as separate, unique individuals with their own set of skills, likes, dislikes and moral compasses, thinking and seeing the world from their own point of view, so whenever I am writing I ask myself how would the character react in this context, what would they realistically say, how would they feel, and I go off of the life experience I set on for them when first coming up with them. And I feel like this has served me tremendously because I've had people tell me in the past that I give really unique and individual voices to my Muses (aka neither of them sounds the same like the other) and that has to be the most wonderful compliment a writer could ever get (considering the world we live in, where self-centered egocentrism causes a good amount of writers to write characters that wouldn't be distinguishable from one another if the reader wouldn't know who's speaking in a dialogue or acting in a scene).
