Hey! Sorry for the late ask, I literally just remembered the new chapter is out. And wow did it make me feel a lot of different things. I feel like it’s finally addressed Yuu’s ‘stupidity’ in a substantial way that’s really grounded it in not just his own persistence, but in his belief in Mika and their combined strength. And even though his plan to let Mika make a plan is not immediately promising, I like how they had him reflect on the situation they’re in and fully commit to making the best choices for themselves.
Also there were some much appreciated cute cheeky moments like Mika being chill about Yuu falling off the tower, Yuu self-identifying as the dumb brawn in the duo, and Yuu using Mika’s own words against him.
Ultimately though, their fight hit me right in the feels. It really contrasted Mika’s pessimism to Yuu’s optimism about their relationship and situation at large. Mika’s insistence that he must lose Yuu shouldn’t choose him bc he can’t believe it’s possible for them to actually work out and be happy like he wants. But what got me specifically was Mika telling Yuu that he should learn to like Shinoa back. That he should go live a normal (heterosexual) life without him bc Yuu’s feelings for him are ‘trivial’. As if Yuu could just choose to get over Mika and be happy with Shinoa. Like I’m sure I don’t have to explain to you how much that relates to so many ppl’s young queer experiences, but the nuance of the way they represented it in this chapter felt so much bigger to me than anything else between them so far. So sorry to YuuNoa shippers, but if Shinoa and Yuu ever get together after it being stated that Yuu doesn’t even like her at this point in the story, I might actually have to bring out the baiting word frfr.
Don't worry about it anon! I'm going to be super busy this month, so I also actually forgot there was a new chapter at all, which is why this response is even later than usual.
This gets long since I go a bit off the rails so I'm actually gonna utilize a read more this time! Sorry if this is a mess, again I'm busy and my thoughts are a bit scattered as such.
If chapter 119 looked familiar, it's because it was.
Chapter 119
Chapter 36
Yuu and Mika are in similar positions, they are fighting mainly because Mika doesn't want to live, Yuu got this sad puppy eye for seeing Mika suffering and so apologized. In chapter 36 at some point Mika also started to cry.
They've gone full circle, and now it's time for Mika to redeem himself (to himself).
Chapter 119, thoughts (mostly mikayuu thoughts)
The first thing screaming in me to say is: YUU IS SO IN LOVE I DON'T KNOW HOW TO HANDLE.
Mika really said: reciprocate Shinoa's feelings, you dumbass!
And Yuu? Yuu can't. He is so in love with Mika. A life with a wife and kids but without Mika is not the kind of life he wants, because the life he wants is WITH MIKA. He is begging at this point for Mika to understand this. He CRIED saying he could have died but he didn't. His biggest accomplishment was surviving when he lost Mika, but now that he has Mika back, losing him for a second time would be too much. He can't handle it. He can't. Mika again said about the love of everyone else, about Shinoa's love, and though Yuu says 'uhum, I get it', he still says that without Mika he WOULD BE ALONE. No matter how much Shinoa loves him and the others do too, Yuu's greatest love is Mika.
Also, can we talk about how ROMANTIC this chapter was? I mean, they climbed the Tokyo tower and I dare say this was supposed to resemble an Eiffel tower date. A shame Mika was so angry 😂 My son was really annoyed this whole chapter.
Oh, I was so wrong about Yuu's plans. I guess Mika was too. lmfao YOU DON'T HAVE A PLAN? WHAT DO YOU MEAN YUU? There I was sure he came up with something evil, but the evil thing was just throwing everything in Mika's lap 🤣🤣
But you all do realize this is a second chance Mika is getting? Remember Mika wanted to have his heart saved? Because he blames himself so much? And now Yuu is giving to him the opportunity to revert the situation and get what they couldn't back then. With the bonus for Yuu of still having him.
I guess Yuu ran away because ultimately he chose to be with Mika, and with Mika only. It's not like he couldn't talk to the others and come to an agreement. Still, he ran. And I think the answer lies actually in this chapter.
And oh, Mika! Can you stop trying to get Yuu a date because you think you don't deserve him and that everything in your life has already ended? Thank you!
One more thing: rip Villain!Yuu, you will be missed lmao 🤣
OK IT TOOK ME SOME TIME BUT
HEAR ME OUT MIKAYUU NATION
I KNEW this reminded me of something!

Even after everything Mika said, he still says that without Mika he would "live all on his own". The ultimate family for Yuu is Mika. They belong together.
"Until death do us apart."
