It is crazy to think how positive social media can be in someone’s life. I don’t talk about it, ever, but social media is my connection to the world, and without it, I would be lost, locked in an office most days staring at a computer screen, as without it, I really wouldn’t have anything to do… if that makes sense? . The majority of my friendships are with humans that live all over the world. So when I get the chance to meet them in person, it is always a very special thing to me. . This is Randall (@fransencomesalive), he is one of these people. I “met him” by purchasing a product from Mettle Cycling (@mettlecycling), to which I had no idea he was the owner of the business. He sent an email after the order, I replied, we got to talking, followed each on IG, and have always just kept in touch with one thing or another. Whether it be about photography, gear, bikes, riding, food, etc., but we had stayed in contact over a few months times. . Fast forward to March 2019 and I see he is in Tucson for the Tucson Bicycle Classic. So we made it a point to link up at the TT - well, we missed each other, but we talked and said Saturday - no matter what, we will make time to meet up in person and hug it out. . I hadn’t seen him prior to the race, but it was time for me to get to work. This guy, during the first lap of his race, spots me, a few hundred feet away, crouched on the side of the road, ready to snap photos of the next group as they come over the crest of the climb. And this is the photo I got. I can’t really put into words how meaningful a photo feels to me, but I remember almost every snap I take, and this was one I knew would be something I would remember, probably forever. . As a photographer, my job is being there to capture your moment in history, forever, but a lot of times you all give me memories, captured in my mind forever as well. So I just wanted to say thank you for all the memories each of you give me, on the road, in the dirt, here online, at the races, in the studio or wherever. These are our moments, and I cherish all of them. Thank you! . Sorry for the long post. . #SocialMediaDoesntHaveToBeNegative . . #OnMyMettle #ThankYou #GetOlympus (at Tucson Bicycle Classic) https://www.instagram.com/p/BuumVtQAW5a/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1k625v78s394d
