A creamy and flavorful dip with the rich sweetness of caramelized onions, perfect for snacking or entertaining.
Ingredients: 2 large onions, finely chopped. 2 tablespoons olive oil. 1 cup sour cream. 1/2 cup mayonnaise. 1 teaspoon garlic powder. Salt and pepper to taste. Chopped fresh chives for garnish optional.
Instructions: In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onions and cook until caramelized, about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Once onions are caramelized, remove from heat and let cool to room temperature. In a mixing bowl, combine sour cream, mayonnaise, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir in caramelized onions until well combined. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow flavors to meld. Before serving, garnish with chopped fresh chives if desired. Serve with chips or vegetable sticks.
