How science fiction taught me to appreciate historical fiction
I'm not proud of the fact that there was a point in my life when I looked down on historical fiction. It wasn't until I "discovered" science fiction that I began to appreciate historical fiction for what it is.

Natural endings
: I like the kind of ending that's unexpected before it happens but once it unfolds you kind of see why it has to happen that way even if it's sad and the characters grow or change in some way and things aren't picture perfect.
