Tray Walker is a 6′2″ cornerback weighing in at 191 lbs. out of Texas Southern University who was selected in the 4th round 136. overall taken by the Baltimore Ravens. He is a quick physical corner running 4.46 in his 40 yard dash. 

Walker is the first TSU player drafted since wide receiver Joey Jamison was selected by the Green Bay Packers in 2000.

I met with Tray in the weight room today and I asked him what was getting his named called in the draft, “I was at a loss for words.  I was on the phone when my name appeared on the TV. Tears came crawling down my eyes.”

The 6-foot-2 Walker had 41 tackles and three interceptions last season. He finished his career with nine interceptions. The past four years Walker said motivation has been playing in the Southwestern Athletic Conference and Football Championship Subdivision, which generally does not get much recognition or respect.

Which is good that he thinks that because i feel that small division one talent is slept on look at the great Michael Strahan who also attended Texas Southern University and I am also aware that their are many other pro athletes who attended HBCU’s.

“Day-in and day-out I wanted to prove what division you are in doesn’t matter,” Walker said. “Talent is talent. If you can play football, you can play football. Because football is football at all levels.”
