Challenge Accepted! - Metroid Prime (Trilogy)
Warning: Spoilers - shows images and talks a little about the game
Shortly after zaineylaney left the game [see previous post for part 1 of this broadcast], theonetruehazard and I finished the 2nd-world of New Super Mario Bros U. To switch things up, the Metroid Trilogy was streamed. This play-through is dedicated to Sam, because this is one of his favorite games.
A "catch 22" for me is that the completionist wants me to get as many of the scanning locations as possible, while the other part of me feels like it interrupts the flow and feel of the game. Perhaps if I were to feel like I wanted to explore, but instead I feel like conquering. I feel if Nintendo were to make a new Metroid for the Wii U, the scanning visor could be controlled separately from Samus with the Wii U Gamepad. Much like in the new Mario games where the 'Gamepad is support, it would be a bonus to have the 2nd player in the game for such things. There could be further interactions as well. Will save such ideas for a future YouTube video.
First Boss Fight was easier than I thought. I made it complicated.
After playing a good amount of PC FPS games, although I will admit that it was my fault of being haphazard with playing the game, I find Metroid Prime to be a bit too relaxing for my taste. The necessity to feel some sort of rush often puts me in rather unfortunate scenarios this run-through of the game.
Mission's Log: The "disturbance" was traced to the surface. I must pursue so that one day "...the galaxy is at peace."
Although no excuse as being a little tired, I decided to run through and try to avoid some enemies, forgetting that the last time I played I had more power-ups and a larger life-bar. I fell a few times and had to do a continue. The most epic of fails being that I confused the save-point room with the room I acquired a map due to the holographic display.
Those wasps are nasty little things until you figure out the pattern.
Needless to say, as I mentioned on the broadcast, once the pattern for the wasp boss was figured out, if I let myself not lose focus to the boredom...it was a rather easy boss. That seems to be a reoccurring trait. But we'll see. I think third time was the charm, I remembered the save-point and after entering the next area we signed out for the night.
P.S. I'll upload an edited version of this run so you all aren't tortured with the retries. Remember, if you join the Twitch'cast, you are able to shape how it turns out. What games I play, what challenges I take, etc. Otherwise, stay tuned and enjoy. :)
Also, this is an example of where you can offer me challenges and I will accept them. GG and have a great night.
